What I would try to do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MelonVK</b></div><div>I don't know how you just *know* the value of a player in that unique of a situation, but alright</div></div>
Well it’s actually pretty easy to know. DeBrusk got 3.6 after back to back 20 goal seasons. McAvoy got 4.9 after being one of the top defensemen in the league. 0 goals and 5 assists, or as you like to call it, “upside,” does not get you paid 3 million. The bruins don’t do that. You have to show consistency as well as availability to get paid as a guy like him. He’s shown neither. He’s not a premium player that will demand 8mil+, there won’t be any competition signing him, especially as an RFA.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MelonVK</b></div><div>It's a huge upside contract. Every metric indicates an explosion if he can just stay healthy. His isolated increase of team shots and reduction of opponent shots is up there with the best players in the league. You can wait for him to prove that, but then you're paying at least 5-6 million. I'd rather take a chance like this in the position of the Bruins.</div></div>
Sure, but “upside” doesn’t cost 3mill. You could get Kase for half that right now.

Ullmark on a 1 year deal is an overpay but he’s just a stopgap to let Swayman develop into a true #1. I hope Miller doesn’t retire, but I’m starting to think the same thing. If he does, Hakanpaa or Oleksiak at a similar cap hit may be a good option</div></div>
Yeah I agree with you on Swayman. He’s not ready to be a true #1 yet. I just don’t think ullmark is the guy. Mrazek could probably be gotten for cheaper too.

What has Kase done to earn 4x3? 0 goals and 5 assists in 18 games with the bruins, his only somewhat good season came in 17-18. Hes been mediocre when he’s not injured. He is not getting 3 million yet lmao

Won’t have to pay seattle to take Ritchie. Even if they don’t take him, someone would definitely take him in a trade. Ullmark at 4mil is a big overpay, would be a better investment to give that money to mrazek. Everything else is pretty good, although I’ll be very surprised if Edmonton lets RNH go to free agency. I have a feeling Kevan Miller retires too. Too many injuries.

Sorry but this is REALLY bad. Edmonton easily says no, rangers and coyle say no, awful contract for getzlaf, awful contract for Ritchie, Frederic isn’t getting 1 mil yet, Kase won’t be on the 2nd like over smith, lazar > Riley Nash, Swayman and vladar aren’t ready to split time. This would all be some major steps backwards for the bruins.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sweenys_Burner</b></div><div>I would love to see a Frederic-Lazar-Kuhlman line, but I just don't see Cassidy mixing up the lines that drastically at this point. Coyle's gone, what, 27 games without a goal? If Cassidy hasn't done anything with him at this point, he isn't going to do anything now.</div></div>
I think Cassidy now has to look at the last 8 games after the deadline where coyle has had DeBrusk and Ritchie as his wings and realize that nothing is going to get Coyle going this year. I agree with you though, I don’t think Cassidy will do anything too drastic. However, I don’t see any excuse for him to not switch up the 4th line a little bit. It’s time to get Frederic back in there, and put Kuhlman on the right. I think Frederic-Lazar-Kuhlman would be a perfect 4th line. A great mix of power, physicality, and a little bit of scoring touch. All the things that, as much as I’ve loved them in the past, Kuraly and Wagner don’t bring to the table anymore.

It isn’t really just because of this loss. The 3rd line besides Ritchie hasn’t been good the whole streak. This game was just a different level of bad. Kuraly and Wagner are too inconsistent too

I would put Ritchie on the 4th though and keep DeBrusk-Coyle together with Lazar or Kuhlman.</div></div>
They have two 4th lines as is right now. It can’t really get worse. At least take a shot at some fresh faces and see if they can show some life in the bottom 6. If not, go back to coyle and debrusk after they’ve had some time to see some games and reset. If they’re still just as bad, oh well. That would suck. Just would have to accept it at that point. At the very least I would like to see a different 4th line next game. It’s time they get Frederic back out there and a guy like Kuhlman who’s shown some grit and scoring touch in the past. Frederic-Lazar-Kuhlman

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Agreed, Coyle and DeBrusk have struggled but you need to get them going, scratching them will probably not help. Kuraly and Wagner should sit. Zboril in if not Lauzon, Tinordi is injured and he's awful anyways.</div></div>
Didn’t even mean to have tinordi in I was just focused on getting lauzon out lol. But anyways, what do you suggest you do to get them going? You can’t put either of them in the top 6 because those lines are firing on all cylinders. And you also can’t really split them up because the rest of the players in the bottom 6 aren’t supposed to be scorers, it would just be the same result. They’re supposed to be the ones generating some offense and not getting hemmed in their zone. There’s really no way to get them going leaving them on the ice, the only option I see at this point is to have them watch a couple games. Sometimes that’s what guys need to mentally reset, they need to see a game from a different angle and it helps them next time they’re on the ice. It’s like a fresh start.

Palmieri and Zajac just got traded for a 1st and prospects. Say what you want about him this year but Hall is far superior to them both combined, he won’t get moved for something light. To add to this, *Barclay Goodrow* got traded for a first last year. If you want to improve the teams core and make them better while simultaneously not taking anything away from the team’s immediate roster, you have to be willing to take affordable risks.

What about mcavoy in a package for Matthews</div></div>
The only centers in this league they would trade McAvoy for is McDavid and Mackinnon. Now obviously those are trades that would never happen but I don’t think you understand how good McAvoy is. Every draft will produce at least one 1C. Franchise #1 RHD are way more uncommon.

They seriously would not do that. Ask anyone who watches or knows anything about the bruins. McAvoy is a legit franchise cornerstone number one right handed defenseman who’s in the running for Norris already. That’s harder to find than a 1C. Similar to why Colorado wouldn’t give Makar straight up for eichel

They won’t need to full on rebuild for another 3-5 years. Anyway, eichel is a piece that could help them win now and would also be a good centerpiece to rebuild around when that time comes. They would still have a strong core of Eichel, Pastrnak McAvoy

I don’t think it’s a bad offer but there’s a great chance it’s not as good as something New York or LA would offer. I think it’s the best the bruins can offer without giving up pastrnak or McAvoy (both they wouldn’t even trade 1 for 1 for eichel).
It’s probably 2 top 4 D with carlo and Vaak, potential #1 goalie in vladar, plus 3 firsts who you’ll get a good player at even if they’re late, Debrusk is probably the worst piece of the offer. I don’t think it’s bad, it’s just beatable by other teams.
