Considering he's an upgrade to at least 3 of our defensemen, he better make the jump.
Whether or not it's with Detroit is different. The worst part about Yzerman is his insistence to play/sign plugs even after our young guys prove that they deserve the spot.

Red Wings would not add a 2nd to Berggren. Basically just giving Berggren for free at that point.
Berggren is only in the AHL due to Yzerman's insistence on playing "great locker room guys" over young players. He will be a NHLer next year; whether it's for Detroit or not, that's up for discussion.

Lets try even spicier
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>How is 3OA and a top prospect a crap offer? When's the last time a top 3 pick was intentionally moved?
Far as I can tell it was 2001 when the Isles traded 2OA, Zdeno Chara, and Bill Muckalt for Alexi Yashin.
Every top 3 pick that's been traded since then has been an oops where the pick ended up being top 3 when it shouldn't have.</div></div>
This draft class is pretty meh. Outside of Celebrini, which I would still be hesitant to consider if Luneau was attached, I don't think there's a single guy who would've gone top-10 in the 2023 draft.
I understand that looking outside-in, Seider had a down-season, however he is being deployed drastically different than he was in his rookie season. Once Detroit gets some quality pieces on the back-end (Edvinsson and Johansson next year is HUGE), he'll likely be deployed similarly to his rookie season (closer to Makar and Hughes Deployment), allowing him to flourish once again.
I should state that calling it cruddy is overblowing it, but that doesn't mean it's good.

Well, it's a hard question:
A core of:
Walman-Seider
Edvinsson-Petry
Maatta-Gostisbehere
Holl
- Johansson
OR
Walman-Seider
Edvinsson-Roy
Johansson-Chiarot
Petry
And losing Määtta, Holl and like a 2nd.
Really difficult!!!!1!!1!1

There is no shot he can be able to dump the three defensemen needed to rationalize re-signing Gostisbehere.

Red Wings 24-25 what I expect

Consequence of the pretty shotty roster management. Fixed.
Also, if Berggren isn't on the Red Wings roster, he isn't in the Red Wings system.
Also, Johansson is a significant upgrade to half the corpses they currently shovel out.
As you pointed out on my optimistic outcome post (and as I mentioned here!!!!), they have two near immovable contracts clogging up space on the blue line. They could have one ride the pine or waste buyout slots, but it's not like they have the cap to splurge on a defensive upgrade lol.

I mean, you haven't been able to provide anything that would reasonably place Danielson above Benson; only criticizing Buffalo for having him rostered and him being short. By the way, 30P in the NHL in your D+1 season is actually very impressive, and thinking otherwise is lunacy.

Since you seem to be thick, let me spell it out for you; you can't compare his season to anybody else's because no one else was stupid enough to put an 18 year old in the lineup. 2023 was an insane draft and my guess half of the 1st rd class could have made it. Who gives a crap about his 30 points? Is that impressive? We don't actually know because again, no one is as dumb as Buffalo. Also, if I have to explain to why it matters that he's tiny then this conversation is useless. And if you think that NHL teams don't lie about their players size than I have a bridge to sell you.</div></div>
So this is what it's like arguing against Wings fans on this site.

And there is no objective way you can actually prove youre right except to point out the fact that the dumb Sabres rushed yet another prospect into their line up too soon. Maybe you didnt watch the preseason but Danielson was just as impressive as Benson in camp. The difference is the Wings arent stupid enough to risk the health and development of their young players. If i didnt know any better id guess you are Evan from the Winged Wheel podcast. Oh and btw Benson is not taller than Alex just because Buffalo says he is. Hes tiny and he'll always be that way. We already have too many tiny forwards. Like I said you're sleeping on Nate.</div></div>
> Listed at 5'10" on the NHL
"The organization is lying to you."
Also, once again, why does his height matter? Clearly wasn't an issue since he literally just put up 30P as an 18 year old.
Also, once again, I like Danielson as a prospect, however saying that he has been better than Benson since the draft just means you're biased. Like actually there's no other reason.
