oh. didn't see that.
no. give him a season. buying him out this year would be a mistake. let him play, if he stinks, call up studnicka, and send rask down to the minors. save a quarter, and buy him out next year, or pay seattle to take him.

Solidifying the roster
Wow, I never even considered Hoffman, with his NTC and all, but he's a great fit on our squad. I like the Ferland signing, but I think he's gonna want more money on the open market, but I think that we could get it done. Not sold on the Krug deal though. He's a top pair d-man on most squads, including NYI, and I think Boston could get more value for him IMO.

Next year
Couple things I like about this. I think that nyi is a great target for Krug, given how bad their pp is. I think Edmonton is a great target for Moore, as Edmonton struggles signing solid ufas for term. That said, the bruins are trading these guys because they have too many d men, don’t go acquiring more. Krug for the islanders 1st in 2020 sounds good to me, they aren’t giving up mayfield anyhow. Urho is ready.
No interest in Saad

You're right I shouldn't, but he's been passed by guys he was suppose to be much better than he just reminds me of a guy like Haydn Fleury where he looks at best like an 3rd pair guy.

To Boston
Mikael Granlund
To Minnesota
Peter Cehlárik
Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson
Jakub Zboril
2020 1st round pick</div></div>
It isn't too bad, but I think we'd probably want a 2019 first and quality prospects over quantity. I wouldn't hate Zboril, I think he's a nice piece, but I think we'd want guys like Frederic or Donato over Cehlarik and JFK. I think if you swapped one of those two out for JFK and Cehlarik and made the pick a 2019 1st, it would be a pretty nice offer.

HUH? How does it even make sense that Boston has to add because Bura has played more games? Playoff and him winning a cup are irrelevant to the equation, especially considering Washington still wins the cup without him. For a simple swap of RFA's I'd say this is pretty close to even.

Stone better fit than Panarin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I know the names of these prospects but haven't followed them. Who would you say has the highest potential?</div></div>
Honestly tough to say. I don't think it would land Stone.
Cehlarik is interesting - point a game player in AHL, but hasn't been able to stay healthy. Impressed with his recent stint in NHL. Looks like he belongs.
JFk - He will be a 2c - he was actually doing ok as the Bruins 3c, but (IMO) team needed more size and toughness so they brought up Frederic and Cehlarik over Donato and JFk. Kind of reminds me of a young krejci, but plays a faster game.
Heinen- 47pt rookie year, struggling offensively this year. Solid two way player - should rebound to rookie numbers.
Zboril - who knows. high draft pick seemed to have some confidence issues. has potential to be top pairing guy, but I would be surprised if he reaches that. Should be a legit NHL Dman though. That being said, he is only 21 & starting to play well.

Garbage. Move on. B’s dumped him on Rangers. They traded him for a bust. Oilers put him on waivers. How much more evidence do you need? Defensive liability with minimal offense. No thanks. No need for another left shot wing. He’s Donato just not as good and more expensive.

Running out of places to plug Backes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>Except he isn’t, still has an M-NTC. My guess is the teams he lists won’t be interested and the teams that are he won’t be interested in. He likely gets waived, clears, sent to Prov where he might be more incluned to accept a trade to any NHL team after awhile. If not they hold him for another year and buy him out.
Honestly the 3m signing bonus is not a stumbling block to move him now. Sure it does not help. But if the offer is one that could not be refused and helps the other team they would not be concerned about it.</div></div>
Except he is lol. Use a small budget, cap floor team as a middle man to eat 50% of the cap to help them get to the floor. Backes at a $3 million cap hit is attractive to teams and dont be shocked if STL would want him back.

I did an ACGM awhile back. Backes-Heinen-JFK-Zboril-1st-rights to A.Kohklachev to Minny for Staal and Neidereitter. Gives an aging lineup with very few prospects an ifusion of young talent for an expiring contract and a guy they can replace. Backes goes home. B’s get a 3rd center and RW for the 2nd line.
I think B’s would be a Cup contender this year. Staal walks via FA at end of the year which sucks but the lineup will pretty much be set elsewhere. Enough cap space to sign the RFAs. Frederic/Studnicka/Fitzgerald/Cave would camp battle for 3rd and 4th center unless there is enough cap space left to bring in a vet.

No. Lucic has been worse than Backes, makes the same money, and is under contract for an extra 2 years. **** that noise. Slug it out with Backes at that point.
