Ottawa will want at least two 4th round picks for Brassard + Motte.
This ain't it.
Ottawa declines.

GMs have to be appear like they're working. Besides California or Ottawa in January.....that's an easy choice. I just think the Kings might want a veteran for their playoff push. Wondering if it could be goalie Talbot.

For sure, that thought process totally makes sense. Roy's value to LA is infinitely higher than Walkers, especially right now. Walker isn't playing poorly by any means, he just plays different minutes and in different situations than Roy.

In terms of draft picks, Roy is worth either:
1. a late 1st + a 3rd
2. two 2nds, one of which needs to be for 2023
However, draft picks is not what the Kings need.
They need solid left shot defencemen instead like a Chabot or a Sanderson.

Yah Don't; see any way they are letting him go with a playoff run coming.
Also, I would Fire DJ before I fire Dorian.

First of all, Roy isn't being traded because he's too important to the make-up of the Kings current defense. He's criminally underrated in the capfriendly world outside of the LA fanbase because numbers trump everything when you don't know much about a player, and producing numbers is not his job. But for the sake of conversation:
LA wouldn't accept anything less than a 1st + another good asset for Roy. He's their best defensive D-man not named Doughty, and he and Mikey Anderson are the only ones that can consistently eat minutes currently. Its why the Kings are looking for another piece for their blue line to pair with him. For the price of a 2nd, the Kings would move Sean Walker because he's replaceable with the prospects they have in the pipeline. With LA moving Faber out for Fiala, there's no current replacement for the type of minutes Roy provides in the King's system. So, Roy is going to be more expensive than most think if they want to pry him out of LA.

actually that is very incorrect if anything he revived his career once again in seattle, he was very solid defensively and physically and is the type of dman ottawa needs more of tather then just targetting more offensive dmen like chychrun just because they are young

Pretty significant when neither player is living up to that kind of contract.
Even if sens can't get a big fish deal like Chychurn, and they aren't able to move Zaitsev this season, it's WAY smarter to circle back next summer. They'll be under the gun, but a 1× 4.5mil deal, potentially with Just 2.5mil actually left on the deal is not gonna be very difficult to move.

Lets Go
Ottawa isn't giving that much for Chychrun and Greig is pretty much off-limits
This is what Dorion said recently :
“<em>Ridly Greg is unbelievable. He’s an incredible two-way player and he’s probably got one of the biggest hearts I’ve seen</em>,” said Dorion. “<em>He’ll do anything to win. He’s not just like a role player, but he’s a complete player</em>." “<em>He’s got great skills, he finds a way to score and he plays in the middle of the ice. He competes on draws. He can power play, penalty kill and we were really impressed with the way he was playing before he got hurt</em>.”
They are extremely high on him and rightfully so. I understood this when I saw Greig in his first 4 AHL games as he was 18 y/o. He's literally untouchable for me. Another team would have to dangle an even bigger "untouchable" for me to consider trading him
Remove Greig, add a 2nd and that's it... No need to do much more than that. If that's not enough then you move on to another option

Both. I don’t think you’re fully wrong just don’t agree with some thing . If Zaitsev needs a 1st to dump, Ottawa should just bury him. I think Ottawa would give Arizona the right to choose between any of our D prospects not named Sanderson + any forward prospect not named Greig or Pinto and a 1st and maybe a 2nd .
I don’t think any team is offering 3 solid elite pieces for Chychrun after seeing the summer market

Switching up the targets
I mean this in the nicest most honest question asking way, but what do people see in Erik Brannstrom?
From where I sit, I see an undersized offensive skating defenseman who hasn't really shown signs of translating the offense to the NHL yet.
When I watch him play, I get Samuel Girard vibes, but less good at defending and less vision for breakout passes.
I personally don't think he'll ever be a top 4 defenseman, and typically teams don't keep 5'10 dmen on the third pair..

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Julesens</b></div><div>even then, still a no. Brown can get a much better return in my mind. EDM just aint it. Retaining on Murray makes little sense, he's just as likely to end up on LTIR. I don't think EDM is the trade partner for OTT. Even Jesse P doesn't do it for me tbh</div></div>
I see, but Bourgault is a good prospect. With that 1st, it's a good return for Brown
Retaining on Murray is the only way for his contract to not be negative value. Yes he could be LTIR but there's also a good chance he ends up between the IR and playing, again, which still costs a lot of money
Of course, I think they should instead extend Brown for 4-5 years but also thought Nick Paul should have been extended so who knows with this team?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens65</b></div><div>Would you do Connor Brown for Kailer Yamamoto+?</div></div>
Straight up not interested in Yamamoto, one of the most overrated players for one of the most underrated? kinda funny
