Trade with Leafs
Goalies doesn't hold that kinda value. Andersen was drafted by canes and refused to sign with em. Hard to see him waiving from tml to canes.

Faulk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nashless</b></div><div>You're certainly overestimating Faulk. Not quite an offensive dynamo, light on his skates and often behind a step on his def coverage. This is a good return, Hague is on the right track as a prospect. Although Carpenter/Lindberg+ would be a better fit. I can see canes trying to unload Rask with Faulk also.</div></div>
That is bad return for top 4 rd. Canes don't need bottom 6 forwards/4th liners. Having Aho playing first year as a center and Necas coming in as a rookie I think it would be smarter to keep Rask as a back up plan.

Faulk
1. Skinner and Faulk cases are different can't use that as an argument to trade him for scraps.
2. Canes are under the cap floor after that trade.
Only way I see him getting traded is top6 F coming back. Otherwise play him on 3rd pair and 2nd PP.

U can't rly compare Skinner and Faulk and say u got nothing for Skinner same will happen with Faulk. Their situations are different. If u rly think Faulk's value isn't even late first atm why trade him? He is still signed 2 more seasons.

Canes don't need Gardiner and they would ask Nylander if Leafs ask Pesce.

For meh d prospect that canes don't need and 2nd+3rd? Cmon. Skinner had 1 year left and full nmc that's way different situation compared to Faulk.
Having 3 top4 RD doesn't mean canes will hand u 1 for free.

With Faulk as I said. But it wouldn't happen if they don't move Spurgeon or Dumba first. At this point I probably wouldn't move Fleury either.

I'd take nino to canes in a heartbeat. I think he would fit well to canes roster and system. He could play with Necas and Svechnikov. I would prefer using Faulk in a trade but that's probably no go for Wild looking at their RD depth.

go for it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>Well, they went and traded for Dougie Hamilton a top 4 RHD and have Brett Pesce, who is ready for top 4 RHD minutes, someone has to go, and it isn't gonna be the guy they just traded for, or the young guy on a great contract.</div></div>
Play Faulk on 3rd pair. Have nice big shot from the blue line on both PP units. I don't really get why they couldn't keep him. Pesce has played top 4 minutes for canes last 2 seasons and is more than capable to do it.

Then keep him. He is signed for 2 more seasons. Why trade him when his value is lowest ever. Let him bounce back and gain some value. There will be injuries and some teams might find out they are missing pieces in D during the season. That will make better market for his kinda experienced top 4 RD.
Skinner's return was disappointment but his case was totally different.

He will be 31 when his next contract kicks in. It'ts not like he is done but from canes pov I wouldn't want to touch that contract with 10 foot pole.
+ Can't see canes tradeing centers away. Aho and Necas are still question marks on C spot.

Zykov Necas Svechnikov
Looks good on paper, but I don't wanna see 3 rookies getting abused.
I'd go with:
TT-Aho-Svechnikov Pretty good top line
Ferland-Staal-Zykov Checking line takes hardest minutes, while being some sort of offensive threat
Skinner-Necas-Williams Sheltered offensive line
McGinn-Rask-Martinook/PDG/Foegele Pretty good 4th
Even though Necas-Svechnikov duo would be pretty damn tempting.

If the return is something canes don't need or meh prospects and picks just keep him for 1 more year.

Nothing more than a 4C? C'mon, yes he had a down year but he had 48 and 45 point seasons before that. He is capeable to 3C duties. Don't see much of an upgrade on Anisimov.
