Seattle Draft 1 Flames Trade
That is what I originally did but then ran into cap issues and I took too many forwards. The team I put together had enough goal scoring but the back end was weak. I didn't really need another goal-scorer in Nino so I cleared up some money to sign Hamilton. I thought Bean could be moved a lot easier with the current cap situations than Nino. But I was just having fun, I definitely am no expert in this.
Also, was he on a 37 goal pace? From what I checked it looked like 29 goals, and 2019 he was on a 13 goal pace. Plus in the last 45 playoff games, he has 4 goals.

Is it required to build a 23 man roster or can a team elect to do a 22?

Hall - Gaudreau trade makes sense and sticks within cap
Maybe take out Braun and put in a 2nd. Flames resign Stone instead or put Kylington on the right side and have Mackey as a 7th to save $800k minimum on cap. I am worried about 2021-2022 season with this roster. To re-sign Dube, Bennett, and Valamaki on a flat cap will be tough. Maybe switching Rittich with a backup such as the newly signed Domingue could help. I like what you have done here.

That is a good point. Unless somehow Dansk is ready for the jump and have Lehner play a ton of games which I don't think they'd want to do.

Specifically to trade with Calgary, they don't have an interest in another LD. The first and Bellows might be something to work with but ideally the Flames would target Wahlstrom being a right shot RW. I am not sure NYI would want to consider a trade for Wahlstrom.

VGK has no leverage right now because they signed Lehner before trading Fleury. Even if he doesn't go to Calgary I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to the trade I proposed than yours.

shakeup the core
I really like this. I have listed some changes I would like to see but I think you've done a great job here.
- I heard Toffoli was working a contract out with Vancouver. I would love if he came to Calgary but he would probably go back to California if not Vancouver.
- DeMelo would probably want 3 million at least. Not many RD on the market.
- I would rather trade a 2nd (or 3rd)+Kylington than the 19th pick this year for Kuemper. With Kylington out, Mackey could move up (or even Yelesin if he can make the jump).

Rittich = Andersen statistically. Rittich is younger and on a better contract. Andersen is a rental.
So with that logic; Flames include Bennett and a first?

Laine Trade
On the note of the Flames missing a C like some others have mentioned, you would have a bit of cap space to find another C. As to where that would come from, I am unsure as there are none in FA that would fit the role. I love Roslovic so this trade would make me quite happy but the value is really one-sided. Either Roslovic is removed from the trade or CGY will need to add at least their 1st.
One perk of this for WPG is if they sign Hamonic in FA they can have to familiar D-men playing together as they learn the WPG system (however, I don't see them staying on the same line as they play a similar role).

OEL price
I keep seeing the talk of OEL to Calgary. I really don't see it happening unless a serious sacrifice is made by Arizona. AZ has already made huge mistakes recently (Hall and draft penalty) so I could see them being desperate to get picks.
Outside of hockey, the Arizona organization is probably struggling for money right now, as is Calgary (but not to the same extent). I could see a deal where a player from CGY has their bonus paid then traded the next day. Such as waiting until July when Lucic gets a $3 million bonus, then is traded right after. Relevant picks/prospects would then be needed to equal out the trade. But I am certainly not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff so I am making this up as I go.
I like the signing of DeMelo if he chooses Calgary. You still have a bit of cap space to play with to try and bolster the team (but as previously noted, I could see the org trying to go a year saving some money because of the COVID money crunches).

I thought the same thing but Domi left the year before Tkachuk joined the team. I could see them being good line mates though. I agree on the note of being a downgrade from Monahan to Domi regarding the C role.

GM game discord
I feel Hamonic won't be signing in Calgary and you're paying Brodie a bit too much- would rather sign a cheaper D-man if he will cost that much. In the Fluery trade, his contract is not very friendly. I feel we could almost wait a season riding Talbot and wait for VGK to pay the Flames to take the contract. I don't mean to pick it apart too much but Carrier just signed in Feburary so I am unsure if VGK would want to trade him so soon.
I don't think Montreal retains salary in the Tatar trade but I do like the idea there! It possibly could be only 1 2nd from Calgary depending on how good Juulsen is; I don't know him well enough for the valuation.
To make this work you'd need to open up the cap a bit, probably by trading Ryan (and assuming MTL does retain). I like the ideas you've put forward!

I am not the best at valuations but I really like what you've done here. I feel some of the signings might want more money, such as Gustaffson wanting at least $500k more and Mangiapane wanting $250k more. I would also be afraid Hall would want a longer term deal or $8mil. But you've left some cap space for that so no problems there.

Flames hang up. Makes no sense to trade Bennett+1st round pick for a rental that has the same GAA and SV% as Rittich, especially with Talbot wanting to re-sign in Calgary at a lower cap hit than Andersen.

Yeah, I could tell when buddy thinks the Sabres would want Tkachuk + Monahan or Lindholm as a return. It's unfortunate instead of discussing they just insult.
