Or the Hawks just accept as proposed. Either way works. With Dach and Slaggert in the pipeline, Anderson probably has one more season in Chicago at the most.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>johum7</b></div><div>they've said they are selling at the deadline, but they wouldn't look to move a younger center who's producing at a 2C level + defensively responsible for futures that they have a decent crop of already</div></div>
Yes they would. The whole point of rebuilding is that they have no reason to hang onto guys who they don't feel are a big part of our future. Sure, Frost is on the younger side and has played great lately, but that still doesn't mean management views him as a future piece on a Contender.
To put it into perspective: Frost was one of the best 5v5 producers in the league as a 23 year old Center the back half of last year, the FO and coach knew that their ace in the hole Center prospect in Gauthier had no intentions of being a part of Philly long term, some of his competition in the top-9 were a 34 year old Atkinson coming off of a brutal injury and totally unproven guys like Brink and Foerster, and he <em>still</em> spent most of the early season in the press box.
They've had way more than enough time to make up their minds on Frost and all reports have shown that they're still shopping him. I doubt they'll give him away, and FWIW I think trading him is an awful idea, but acting like he's not on the trading block is flat out wrong

I think if Philly is trading Frost to Colorado they'd strongly prefer to target Callum Ritchie over any other asset (1sts and any other prospect for that matter), but I think they at least consider this

I don't hate the deal for Philly. I think Frost might be moved because Philly wants a 1st. People need to stop bringing up about Frost being scratched. It was at the beginning of the season, because Torts was mad he held out and wasnt playing hard. Since they met about a month ago Frost has been probably the best all around player on the Flyers. Johansen isn't happening, he and Torts have not had the best relationship in the past and I doubt the Flyers would want that cap hit. As far as Olausson, I don't know much about him but Behrens or Gulyayev would work too.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Keegan</b></div><div>Care to elaborate?</div></div>
Frost likely isn't on the move. Been one of the teams best forward since Christmas and they wouldn't be looking to take on a cap dump in his place. Olausson serves no value either (not that he has none - Flyers have too many RW in system)
Edit: most of Frost's scratches come from Torts have zero leeway with him and 1/3 of his games played he's been stapled to the 4th line with a revolving door of Laughton/Poehling/Hathaway/Deslauriers

I think Jost is the most likely signing of this roster here. The more I think about it, if we don't re-up Helm or Cogliano he fits the role we need the most down on the 4th line. Especially if we want Meyers on the 3rd line. I think Duchene's price is 5 minimum.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Keegan</b></div><div>I don't think they should've let him walk, but I imagine they would've been able to get a bigger package than Giroux unless he also only allowed to be moved to one team. I just think they are the most likely team to acquire Petry, especially if Montreal takes back either or both of the two goalie contracts, which they can easily afford to do.</div></div>
Ultimately as long as DAL was in the playoff race they would've never moved Pavelski and broken that first line of theirs which have been one of the best league-wide. Not that I'm against it or anything, I really wanted to keep him around and especially with a one year contract there's no huge risk of him starting to decline and lose value.
That risk however is very true with Petry - and hence I'm against going after him. Dumping Petry to Dallas might make sense for several reasons starting from the need of RHD and the fact our GM likes his veterans, but as far as I'm concerned I wish it won't happen.

It doesn't, but it definitely should be. Youth I mean.
Re-signing Pavs was a necessity, he's doing so well it'd be just bad to let him go for free.

I don't want Petry anywhere near Dallas, but this kind of deal wouldn't make immensely mad.
Then again I'd still very much want to avoid landing the guy here, because we're already old enough and Petry is expensive. Too expensive to my liking.

Just…not much there to justify the cap hit. The Sharks can’t really afford him and don’t need him. We have guys like Balcers and Dahlén and Barabanov already scoring at around 0.5 PPG at much more modest cap hits and we need high end scoring, not more bottom-6 pieces. He’d be worth a 3rd at around 1.5-2M but at 3.5 it’s just too much imo.

Get where you are going. But the overall centre depth here concerns me. Vegas had this issue for 2 years. You can have all the wing deoth in the world, but when you lack C depth, it's a problem.
Newhook will be a gamer, no doubt. But this line up is risky in what is a tough west.

Oh no. Kadri will be gone. He will be signing for aggregious money that won't age well.
Having said that, finding a 2C with one or two year left in a deal maybe a rabbit hole worth going down. Pr at least a 3C that can play up the line up a little..... say a Sean Monohan at 50% retained? Imagine that gets done on the cheap.

I agree, I think he'd be a nice fit with his playing style and his contract.
I'd give up more for Dunn, but I don't think he'd be a good fit for Dobson. He'd be an excellent fit for Mayfield, but that would mean getting two defensemen instead of one. To visualize, we can either do:
Pelech-Pulock
Soucy-Dobson
Salo-Mayfield
or
Pelech-Pulock
XXX-Dobson
Dunn-Mayfield
I think the first option is more realistic.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Keegan</b></div><div>Yeah, I saw Florida and Vegas, but with Vegas rumored to either be signing Danault or trading for Eichel I felt it wouldn't make sense for them, but yeah it also doesn't really make sense for Florida unless they move Hornqvist or something, but then it wouldn't make sense for Arizona unless there was a significant sweetener. Oilers I think is too much, but based on what they've been doing, and the rumor they are pretty much guaranteed to move Bear if Barrie resigns, I figured it seems like a good offer for both sides. Edmonton gets a lot of cap space and a significant upgrade in goal, and the Coyotes get a good young dman and picks (Although tbh I mainly included the 2nd because I want them to get as many as possible lol). And I'm not sure what the exact price on Dvorak is, but that was the minimum price I think would be acceptable, and Minnesota is a team that it makes sense for him to go to.</div></div>
Haha, yeah, I'm really excited actually to see where Kessel ends up. From Edmonton I think we'll have to settle on either Bear or the 1st, but as you said, with all the rumors and our need on RD I think Bear is a very logical return. Lastly, Minnesota. It's a tough one. From what I've seen on here they don't seem willing to give up anything of value, even if they have a big need and interest (many years I think I saw) in Dvorak. For me, I'm looking at Boldy in return. Worst case scenario it's a 1st + Addison.

Pretty reasonable, but I have to imagine that Hornqvist is in at least the top 9, maybe 2nd line RW, move Reinhart to C, and Bennet down to 3C. Marchment would probably be the odd man out, but that is a very good team, especially if Bob can turn it back to when he was in CBJ.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Keegan</b></div><div>Yeah, definitely an overpay, because it is really unlikely he goes back to the player he was 3 or 4 years ago, I mostly did that because that is the kind of deal I could see for him. I think a deal would be a player who is paid similarly but isn't really needed by their team (Compher), a prospect (Helleson, who as an Avs fan I'm not the highest on. I don't think he becomes more than a bottom pairing dman, but I would be happy with that, and we don't need him to be more than that), and a pick upgrade (A Late 2nd for an Early 4th isn't a massive difference, especially with the 2nd being in this draft). But I don't really see the Avs going for him, I think they would be more likely to try and move Compher for cap space and resign Saad, or add someone like Coleman.</div></div>
Personally I like Helleson a lot. He’s big, a good skater and has gotten progressively better. He was great at BC this year and played great as part of the top pairing for the US in the WJC. Throw in he is a right shot and there is a lot to like at least for me.
