Wild could probably just sign Dumba for that price. Eventhough he is RHD, it would make more sense to do that instead of giving up capital and just have Hunt brought up to split with Merrill

FA and Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>And?
If the 82 games of the regular season mean nothing, then why do they play them?
I would rather have a defenseman who is phenomenal defensively during the regular season and less effective in the playoffs becase of his size, then one who is a defensive black hole the entire year... albeit with the caveat that the guy can score. What gets old for me is people harping on a guy who was outstanding all year, and for his career really, just because the guy is under a certain size range. If Spurgeon was 6'3" 214 lbs, had the year he just had, then had the exact same playoffs results, I guarantee Wild fans and national pundits alike would STILL be singing his praises and not be trying to move him. It would not be *getting old*.</div></div>
First round exits gets old

FA and Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>No, they absolutely do not.
They're literally ready to move Addison because he doesn't play defensive hockey, you think they would want someone like Carlson? Who's only defining attribute is his ability to score goals and quarterback the PP.... which sounds suspiciously what you would hope Addison turns into.
Sure, Carlson is great offensively. But that’s all he is.
Spurgeon finished in the top 10 in his own right for the Norris this past year, and yet is superb defensively as well. He frankly was more valuable than Carlson this past year by a decent margin too. He was worth 4.1 GSVA to Carlson's 3.0. All at a cheaper cap hit, while being worth more in market value. So again, his value is decidedly higher than Carlson's.
So tell me how or why Minnesota should consider this, let alone ADD to this trade?

Spurgeon is a -19 in playoff career including -6 this year. First round exits are getting old with a 5'9 defensemen who cant hold his own when size and strength becomes important.
But if you want a great regular season defensemen. I agree keep Spurgeon

The Wild jump at the chance to acquire Marner for that mediocre package.</div></div>
How about we do this. You keep Marner, your no name LW and 39 year old defensman
We keep one of the top skating and shutdown DMan in the league, our energizer bullnose forward, one of our top prospects and our 2nd
And we both go our seperate ways and never meet again? Fair?

Nate Danielson
Very well done.
Addison will fetch a second. Maybe trade him first for a 2nd and then offer Van 1, 2, 2 to move up to 11. I think that would be more appealing to them.
I love the Dumba angle but guessing he gets around 5.5- 6 on the market
Gus, not a fan of giving that much term for 35-40 games of starter action and subpar playoffs
Danielson would be a great pick but I personally would like a big Dman drafted. I think Marat will 1c in 2 years.
