The Risto-RNH trade was taken from the PDO podcast where they discussed this trade making alot of sense for both sides.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>toddbertuzzi44</b></div><div>If your a GM in the West, then your 98% not gonna wanna help them sign Gusev, unless your getting back an asset that is better than Eakin. If your a GM in the East , then your 98% still gonna ask for Gusev, an the if there is no deal to be made then maybe a team in will take Eakin for a cheap. Thats how i see it playing out. I still think they will just take the best offer for Gusev, which will most likely be a pretty good deal for them, especially since they got Gusev for nothing
Yes, at the moment it feels more likely that the Knights will be trading Gusev. My original point was - if they do - they won’t also trade another piece (Eakin, Reaves, Smith, random defender and Clarkson (which will bring down the value of Gusev). Theres no point to it. Either keep Gusev and ship somebody or ship Gusev and keep the team from last year.
They’re 3-4mil from the ceiling. Not 7-9mil.</div></div>

I’m 98% shure that all the leagues GMs think otherwise. If they have space or need for them is another question.

Lucic and Gusev Trades
Alot of people trading for Gusev + another player. That’s not Vegas problem really. They just need to trade either Reaves/Holden or Gusev. Trading Gusev + Eakin doesnt make any sense for a team that has no cash problems and want to challange for the cup.
Take either Gusev or Eakin out pf the equation or give us something back that would still make Vegas competitors.

Vegas should keep Miller and move Pacioretty.</div></div>
Are they really re-building though? Seems more like an team developing talents for other NHL-teams.
And for the exact same reasons thay you don’t believe Sens are moving on from Norris I would say about Patches, except from If a team doesn’t present an extremly good deal. Something I don’t believe will happen.
Do you think a prospect plus a 2nd is too steep for Miller? I would gladly trade him somewhere else than Ottawa :)

Most likely not. But C. Miller would be a good player for them. He’s been in the league for a while now, on a pretty good contract, could put up 30-40 points a season, given the minutes.

I like the idea of having the Marchy/Smith-combo easing in Glass to the NHL. And it also sound sound to me to have to top-notch defensive forwards to look after Gusevd back.
But whho am I to know...

It's really based upon Granger's thoughts. The first third lines. I kinda like them too, but not shure it will happen thou.
Having second thoughts of the FLA-trade. Could be happy with getting a prospect back. Then Bellemare could come back to be a back-up center.

Really like the look of things. LIke the addition of Krys who could potentially fill the gap of loosing Brännström in a year of two.
The whole team looks like really plausible. Except from not signing Tomas Nosek. He's RFA so you more or less have to sign him...
Maybe you could get a 3rd and a 5th (2020) for him and have a good set-up til next years draft.

Can't see Karlsson being the teams next most expensive player. Is he really that much greater than his linemates? Signing Marhessault to 5x5 might be the most brilliant act McPhee has done forthis team.
I like your trades, though me personally would love to keep Reaves, for get about the "honey-situation", still belive he brings something special to this team with his personality.
I'm also pretty shure that Glass won't play in the league except from backing up an injury. He'll get a year to mature in the AHL.
But who am I to know really :)

I belive the Shipachyoc story is quite blown out of proportion. McPhee has a great repertoaire with Russians in pre Vegas days. The money-factor is another case though... hopefully he feels like he's achieved what he wants to achieve (for now) in the KHL and taking a year with a couple of bonuses isn't that bad until he goes UFA til the summer 2020.

2nd try - EK65
Good adds! Haula is probably out the for rest of the season so today he’s not really a trade bait of any sorts. But otherwise that would ve a good call.
Gusev might be a good choice also, and if GK are able to sign EK they probably won’t be able to sign Gusev next year anyways.
Jones and Lesch... are both prospects that GK can off sonce it looks lile they want to win in the next 2-3 years.

It’s actually a follow-up on a trade in 2018/19 season. Not just a free agency pick up.
Brannström-Karlsson would be fun, but who’s looking out for the defense? ?

I dunno, his price shouldn’t really rise from what SJ paid. And that wasn’t much. Shure you could sweaten the deal with some picks and and a prospect, but still, Karlsson isn’t a good fit in SJ and it seems like him being there causes some unrest in the hieracy.
