No such thing with Karlsson. Don’t care how he is playing. 2 months is an outlier. 2 years would be a different story.

I dunno, his price shouldn’t really rise from what SJ paid. And that wasn’t much. Shure you could sweaten the deal with some picks and and a prospect, but still, Karlsson isn’t a good fit in SJ and it seems like him being there causes some unrest in the hieracy.

Tierney - 2nd/3rd line fw
DeMelo - 2nd pair D manN
Norris - solid prospect
Balcers - mediocre prospect
1st
2nd
Conditional 2nd

You are paying less than half if what SJ paid.

Miller- 2nd pair D man
Lindberg - crappy bottom 6 player with expiring contract
1st

Sorry, you aren’t close.

DeMelo was 3rd pair last year, and an unsigned UFA until just before the trade. He's good, now, but he was a throw in. Miller was a top 50 offensive defenseman last year, although mostly with power play points, and he plays 2nd pair. This year he's slipping to 51st. It's not the same value, but it's more than half. I think Miller's worth summer '18 DeMelo and one 2nd, but not two? Meanwhile, Karlsson is slipping to 20th, potentially slightly lowering the price (except that Burns won't be top ten forever, and keeping EK in reserve is a strong move for SJ, especially if a low point total dampens his contract demands).

What about adding Ship and Gusev? If they are done with Vegas, the clock is ticking to get something for their NHL rights. It's still not the best offer, but it's closer. Maybe throw in Haula if you really want to get SJ motivated?

If Karlsson signs an extension with Vegas, then it'll be Haula, Miller, Leschyshyn/Coghlan a first, second, and third. That's essentially what SJS paid for EK last summer. But Karlsson is a rental unless he signs an extension. So if it's just a trade where maybe he'll extend, maybe not, then I'd make it Haula, Miller, Ben Jones, and a conditional first.

Good adds! Haula is probably out the for rest of the season so today he’s not really a trade bait of any sorts. But otherwise that would ve a good call.

Gusev might be a good choice also, and if GK are able to sign EK they probably won’t be able to sign Gusev next year anyways.

Jones and Lesch... are both prospects that GK can off sonce it looks lile they want to win in the next 2-3 years.
