It is amusing. They're difficult to find a line for on the same team. I don't think they pair off very well together. They can certainly be used as a sub on other lines in offensive situations and obviously on the power play. I just think for this team to move forward they need to have their roles lessened. The same can be said for Giroux but he's a bit more effective in all situations as a wing. His role too needs to be lessened. Unfortunately, the team is saddled by 3 very large contracts for talented players that are not talented enough. They are not game breakers in their career. For JVR and Voracek they may never have been.

They pale in comparison to JVR in terms of level, but they're also $6M cheaper (aside from Ghost). Saying they're better options is a bit subjective, I admit, but none of them are going to become an issue for the team, unlike JVR should he start declining.
In the VGK draft, Tampa paid 2nd+signing rights of Gusev in order for VGK to take Garrison's big contract off their hands. So there might be an example for you.
Maybe Samuel Morin and a 2022 2nd round pick as compensation for taking JVR?</div></div>
JVR is scoring at over a 100 point pace right now. Even if that isn't sustainable, Seattle wont take German Rubstov who will probably never be an NHL player over him and Philly won't have to pay for them to want to take JVR

Also, what do you think the Flyers would need to add to get Seattle to take JVR?</div></div>

Tampa is going to lose someone for cheap No way around it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MGabes19</b></div><div>Yeah, I have the Flyers buying him out, only because of flat cap issues. But I agree that he is still a serviceable player, maybe they take that route after a year or so. If that's the case, they are going to have to shed more cap. Not sure how they would go about doing that. What do you think?</div></div>
I work a deal with seattle to take Johnson or JVR and then trade the other for whatever.
Philly is plumb with close to ready prospects and have enough expiring UFAs (Raffl, Elliot, Gus, laughton: 8.6mil) to re-sign their only RFAs Sanheim and Hart (presently 4mil) next year so taking Johnson isn't a huge issue. In 3 yrs when Giroux, coots, and others are UFAs, then its a problem.

Ive posted similar a few times, adding a couple of mid level prospects, like Isaac Ratcliffe and LD Linus Hogberg.
Although I wouldn't put Johnson in minors, the Flyers need some speed, so I'd put Johnson at 3C, Patrick at 4C, and Frost needs key offensive time, so I put him at 1RW, moving voracek to 3RW and farabee to 3LW, JVR to 4LW.
Once Cernak signs he'll be in the Laughton neighbourhood, so taking Johnson is saving them 5mil in cap, but they still need to move a killorn or gourde (5mil or so).
Does Philly want Johnson at 5mil for 4 years? Probably not, but they need speed and that's the price for a 23 yr old RD in Cernak.
Im a fan of this deal and think that Johnson might waive his NTC to go to a contender, rather than a rebuilding club. And while TB shouldn't be looking to move a cheapish, young RD they'll have to make some moves soon with less than a month until the season starts. And they're not plumb with tons of prospects and teams don't want picks if theyre in a win now as enticements to take salaries and the players they want to move have NTC, which means they probably wont want a rebuilding club. (TB is presently 2mil over cap without cirelli and cernak signed).

Think he can be signed by Tampa for under 1m. But you're right....Tampa probably has to move maybe two players with cap. I'm guessing M NTC Killorn and maybe Stamkos can stay on LTIR for a good part of the season which saves cap due to his inexpensive replacement</div></div>
Cernak is offer sheet eligible, he didn't file for arbitration though, I don't think. But I don't think the league will let them LTIR Stamkos if hes healthy, I think theres been too much smoke about that.

I'm talking about Central Scouting. In terms of Edmonton, i believe it had more to do with the fact Edmonton needed a defenseman more than Yakupov.

Niskanen is still on the site because he hasn't officially filed his paperwork. He will ride out his contract and be suspended without pay. This leaves the door open for him to return to the team at some point this season if he decides he wants to play however unlikely. The situation is comparable to the situation with the Jets and Buff last season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MGabes19</b></div><div>Totally agree. So many teams are cash strapped with the flat cap and are not willing to take the chance imo. If that's the case, maybe Chuck will be able to get a decent return.</div></div>
Are you an eagles fan, I can see a Ghost trade turning out like a Sam Bradford to the vikings trade, we will not receive that much return but it will have the same idea.

I personally think he will be moved (especially now since Gustafsson was signed). The only reason I didn't propose a trade was that I've never seen a forum with a trade that everyone agrees with hahaha.</div></div>
The return of Ghost is always varied among ACGM, I do think there is a reason he hasnt been traded yet. Either Chuck is selling High or no one wants him. I think in a world without flat cap, he goes but this makes it 20 times tougher. I think a team that would want to take a flyer on him to see if he just needs a change on Scenery would work. I was going to say VAN but they got schmidt. He will play and if he exceeds expectations and returns to the ghost we know maybe we trade EG, Highly unlikely but the Flyers have a lot flexibility with this,

I have a feeling that Ghost will play if he isnt trade, to try and get his trade value up, he wont be the same player but you will be able to fetch some return for Ghost if he plays well. I love Allison and Lacynski and I honestly thing Allison could make it now and Tanner in 2.

If he was moved at the deadline they could’ve most likely gotten a Coleman like return. Similar players in production and style of play with similar contracts.

Just to let him get his legs under him. Hopefully he'll move up the lineup quickly. On the positive side, he'll probably be the best 4C in the leauge

You can honestly look at so many teams who will be ****ed with a flat cap if it lasts for 3-4 years. Montour will get more than that.

Mostly just looking to move Ghost. If you guys aren't interested in the trade, I'd rather look elsewhere and trade Ghost for a different bottom pair RHD. In terms of Laughton for Montour, the value is fair but I'd rather just hold on to Laughton
