5 Trades-- TOR VGK or any team BOS EDM TBL

Thanks. I thought it was Fair. Essentially Min gets a good prospect, a middle 6 player and late 1st and Bos gets out from Backes and gets Zucker

Thanks for the comment. I think that Spurgeon for JT Miller works for both teams. I added the 5th because I think MIN would want a little insurance after the Nino for Rask fiasco.
I know Kap has more value, but I have seen this idea floating around on some TOR teams and it makes sense, if Min has to add a late round pick (5-7) it might make it more even value wise. I think some value for Tor comes in the form of cap relief

Deal with Nucks and Tor Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>I would do that too, although I think a 1 for 1 is a very fair and smart trade for the teams to make. Minnesota very much needs a right handed scorer up front and the Leafs could use a bigger power forward like player. Greenway looks like he has a pretty high ceiling but I think there is a very good chance that he ends up being a 40 point guy at best in Minnesota. I don't see him having the tools to be elite on his own, he strikes me as more of a high value support guy. Much like Kapanen, although Kap's speed does create chances for himself as well.</div></div>
Agreed. I think it would be a good trade and I would pull the trigger. Although it probably wont happen (GMs don't want to give up on these young players) It seems like the fit is there for both Min and Tor on this deal. Thanks!

I don't think that Fenton would do it, but if you made the 3rd a 2nd, I would do it. Greenway for Kapanen and 2019 2nd?

Agreed. What do you think a fair deal would be for Kap? I do not mean to offend, but How about this Pateryn, a 2nd round pick and a B prospect in our system?

Deal with Nucks and Tor Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>I think the question becomes:
Why would you want to overpay Kapanen? He is at best a 2-3 RW right now (basically a solid middle 6 guy). If you were going to pay him that much, give him the Dvorak deal, it'll look way better for way longer.</div></div>
Thanks for the comment. Again, I agree that an offer sheet is not the best solution. It does seem that 3.5 mil- 5 mil seems to be the going rate for 2nd line players these days. A lot of the better teams in the League have their 2nd line guys making 4+ mil (Tor, TB, Was, Pit, WPG, VGK, etc). So it may be a little over payment for Kap? Yes, but I think it is close to the 2nd line price point.
Not to mention we still have V. Rask who is making 4mil a year as our 13th forward.

Easy Pass from Min. They are not giving up Fiala, Brodin and their 2nd for two aging players. They are trying to get younger and this is the complete opposite of what they are trying to accomplish. Plus they just traded for Fiala, they wont give up on him after 2 months.

True, but he would be 10 days away from being an UFA and maybe would retire before the Draft? That would have to be addressed for sure.

Thanks, I think a 1:1 would make sense for both teams. If Pulock wasnt available, I would target Wilde also, has good size and both Offensive and Defensive upside. I do not know much about Dobson, but will look him up. Thanks again

You are right, NYI probably wouldn't trade Pulock. But if they didn't retain any UFA's (which is unlikely), I think this might be a decent hockey trade. Zucker would be a potential 25-30 goal addition and would be a good fit for the speed of the Eastern Conference. Thanks for the comment

Thanks for the comment. I think that would be a great shutdown line. I just didn't want C.Perry on the bench right away (hard to have an 8.6 mil player scratched). Thanks again

Next year- New Top Line
Thanks for the comment! I do agree with you that Donato and Fiala should get some Top 6 minutes next year! I do think that they (especially Fiala) needs to show more to earn those top 6 minutes. I think Brock Nelson would be a nice 1C addition, my only issue is he is LHS and all my centers are LHS.
I agree with you that Brett Connolly is normally a middle 6 guy, but I watched him a bit throughout the year and I think he could benefit from a more elevated role.
I disagree a little on Spurgeon. I also think that he is a great hockey player and total see where your thought process is coming from, but he could potential get less due to his age and current contract situation. It might be more beneficial to keep him around. Depending on the right trade partner you might get more for a Brodin package (younger, longer contract, reasonable cap).
Thanks again

Mini Rebuild for Minny Trades w MTL EDM VAN NYI
Thanks for your comment, please let me respond.
The MTL trade is to get something in return for an AHL Goalie with an expiring contract and has NHL experience. MTL needs a better backup. Alain was undrafted, but is putting up alright numbers in AHL.
With the NYI trade I wanted to get a RHS, fast, scoring prospect. Ho-Sang made sense and NYI needs to replace Lee and Nelson at the end of the year with still trying to make a playoff push. Sometimes a little maturing is needed and edge isn't always bad thing. Also keep in mind a label is a hard thing to escape once it happens. For your reference past players with a reputation for being a problem in their early years ( E Kane, P Kane, P.K Subban, P Roy, E Lindros, T. Seguin, and many more). Might be worth a risk?
I completely understand your point on the Van Trade. I think something needs to happen with Ek, maybe an Iowa stint instead of bottom 6 minutes.
The EDM trade is a personal preference for me. I really do not think much of M. Foligno. He is paid too much and has little impact on the 4th Line. Zykov has played 28 NHL games and has 4 goals (Average 1 goal every 7 games) small sample size, but had 33 in the AHL last year. For comparison EK has played 117 nhl games and has 10 goals (Average 1 goal every 12 games) but one is a token player and the other is way to early to give up on. I i think he has good size and skill and could help a MIN team. He is also only 23.
Sorry for my rambling, but thanks for your thoughts.

Trades (CAR & VGK)
The only thing about the CAR trade that I would change (imo) would be to eliminate the 2021 3rd, the rest I would keep. In most of my teams I buy out Ennis, so was trying to think of a trade where I wouldn't have to do it. Vegas has a ton of cap space and thought with the draft picks and D prospects (which we have a lot) that I added, they would take the salary dump, it might be a little much from MIN end. Thanks for the comment

Fixing Fletcher's (and Leipold's) mess. Caps and Oiler trades.
You have added a lot of cap which is good for this team (are you trying to add Tarvares...lol).
However, I don't believe this is a competitive team. You give opportunity to some young players to get minutes, which is good for a rebuild (not sure if that is what you are going for or not). The 3rd and 4th lines are very inexperience and base off of last years stats (of course things can change) the 3rd and 4th lines together only average 0.33 pts per game, again, that is combined 3rd and 4th line. That is a lot of pressure on lines 1 and 2 to produce every night and it is hard for me to see Mikko has a 1C anymore (that was a tough extension). Goaltending is also very inexperienced and iffy to me.
You do mention players starting in AHL, but you do you in fill instead?
Decent rebuild, but (in my opinion) this would be a non-playoff, potentially a lottery team.

Trades
Thanks for your reply. I don't know if the TOR trade would be my only move either, but I thought it would be a strong start. I was trying to be as realistic as possible (maybe favoring MN a little). We cant trade a handful of players with NMC or NTC ( I dont know if TOR is on E. Staal's or not).
I do not think moving Coyle is the best option, he would get much in return and has a small cap. Nino might be another option to sell, but it is hard to gauge his value with his inconsistent play. E. Staal's value is really high now and it might be the best time to cash in. I think that this move would give us more depth and give us a little cap flexibility (I currently have 5 lines and 4 sets of D).
I also kind of agree with you on Hickey. I just thought we needed a safety net if Seeler and Soucy's game goes to crap next year.
Thanks again
