The Rangers made a good move yesterday ... making that continue
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>Okay, you might be right, maybe they could add something else small ... though he isn't worth 1st+Fabbro ... I think a 1st is reasonable because he's struggled a bit this season but we know what he can do. But you have to remember he's a rental so they aren't getting a 1st AND a top prospect.</div></div>
Martin Hanzal alone got ARI a 1st, 2nd and conditional just last year. Other than position, it's hard to argue Hanzal being the same talent as Rick Nash ... today or ten years ago (especially with his recent play). Supply and demand ... Nash is THE commodity to have right now and a team will be willing to pay more than the other guy if they feel like they're legit Cup contenders. I personally would love rights to Tolvanen but I'm realistic in saying thats unlikely ... but he's worth a 1st and top prospect and I would not be shocked if he fetches more than that if there is a bidding war with STL DAL NSH WPG to name a few.

Boy ... there sure it a lot of interest in this "old" not good anymore Nash. I've never seen anyone worth just a 3rd round pick being so highly sought after and ranking #1 among available commodities. You guys must know more than those stupid GMs that get paid millions to do it for a living.

Pastrnak Trade
Considering when you boil this trade down to it just being JT Miller and clearing 4m of salary ... um, yeah but no. Personally I'd pass on Pasta because it'd be throwing picks and top prospects at BOS just to be in the same situation they are ... coughing up 7m plus for the next 5-7 years. Don't deny the guys talent, just too right for my blood.

Leafs Fans - is this enough for Bozak?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MattyMadden28</b></div><div>I don't know that prospect so he's probably a long shot. Holden is a salary dump so you may need to trade a 2nd just to move him. So no. Bozak would net a first at least. I'd take your second 1st Chytil. Think about it this way. Bozak is a step below Stepan in talent but is and will be much cheaper. NYR just got the 7th overall pick for him and a ok Goalie.</div></div>
Holden is a salary dump at 1.65m? Its the very opposite ... the NYR have several NHL defensemen with Holden being expendable and very affordable for cap-tight teams. While I agree that this deal is not enough for Bozak it isn't too far off. The prospect should be stronger but I can't see Bozak bringing back both prospects and a 1st rd. He's 31 yrs old ... a rental ... and just happened to have his career year when he's no longer needed to be the top player on the team playing against 1st line D-pairings. Kevin Hayes frustrates the hell out of me but he put up 49 pts last year. That ties Bozaks second highest career total and Hayes is 6 years younger ... so lets be real about Bozaks value.

Best at Each Position
Devan Dubnyk is the 3rd best goalie in the league? He's had two full seasons of being a starter ... the results of both being saved by hot starts. The months of FEB/MAR/APR in 2017 - 2.78 / .907 & 2016 - 2.61 / .904. Not sure how 2 years of being a starter and having great first half's with borderline backup / AHL second half's makes you the third best goalie in the league. Holtby has been much better than Dubnyk for longer (and I'm very much not a fan of WAS). Lundqvist had ONE bad season (though he outplayed Dubnyk in FEB/MAR/APR with 2.76 / .912 and outplayed Carey Price in the playoffs) but has been a top 3 goalie in the league since the Dinosaurs. Quick has been hurt but has two Cups to his name. Crawford as well. Rinne is a strong candidate. Too many to name over Dubnyk.

Trouba
If you're trading for Trouba then the Rangers are going "all in". With that ... McD is more important now than Skjei. Not sure they would look to do that move. I'd see them hoping to pair Trouba WITH McD ... not swapping. On the flip side, WIN has 4 D-Men already making over 5m with McD due for a raise that should easily fetch him over 6m ... maybe approaching 7m.

There is a guy by the name of Marc Staal still on the team. Pretty awful roster.

Trouba
Any particular reason the Rangers would be looking to trade their Captain for another defenseman? That seems to be a strength for the team right now, I would think they'd look to address their need for a Center or moving Marc Staal. Do you feel like Lowry is the replacement they need? A core "shakeup" took place with Stepan and Girardi ... trading the Captain while you're at it seems like a mighty bold move.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larkinisking</b></div><div>JVR will be asking for 6 years $36 million at the very least, No way he's signing for 4 years $22 million to play for the Rags.</div></div>
6m seems a bit much. Reviewing LW players at 6m (excluding players who are older and are nearing the end of their deals) ... he's not on the level of players like Hall, Panarin, Marchand or Gaudreau. Additionally ... how many guys signed 6 years during FA this year? Other than RFA ... none. Both teams and players are being cautions with a potential lockout coming. Years can maybe be extended if you really want the player but 5.5m seems more than fair. But thanks for your input.
