I would really want to see how his rehab is going for his injury and see if he can still play before trading for him.

I see the idea behind it (fresh starts), but MIN would be taking a much bigger risk here. Pass.
Dumba is overrated but could get something nice at the deadline, so that's what MIN should try first.

Dumba for BB
Besides the cap hit issue, BG and Co. also don't seem to be into the on-ice player and his propensity for injury. No need for that, especially with two more years at 6.65. They've had chances to acquire him in the past couple years and haven't.

My lines would be start the season…
Kaprizov - Hartman - Zuccarello
Foligno - Eriksson Ek - Boldy
Jost - Gaudreau - Rossi
Dewer - Steel - Duhaime
Middleton - Spurgeon
Brodin - Dumba
Goligoski - Addison
Fleury - Gustafson.
I see what you mean

I could see something like this happening right out of camp. If it were me, I'd probably slot Gaudreau or Dewar with Ek/Moose, start Beckman in Iowa, and then just slot Petan/Shaw/Chaffee/Swaney into the 4th line. But i'm less impressed with Beckman than others.

Don't see why Arizona would pay for Kulikov. They're over the floor and have ample Dmen vying for tank commander already.

Can’t see Columbus trading Roslovic until they are sure if Johnson is a center or not.
On a side note, I think you’d struggle to get most of the players on the list.

Bennett would be really interesting, and he'd fit well on this roster, but I doubt Florida moves him. Think they'll just find a way to dump Hornqvist and then their cap issues are solved.

I care a lot about size in a 7 game playoff series! Jost is fast, and speed can be a big factor in playoff hockey, but size and speed can really start to dictate play and even take over in hard fought, physical series. Jost will (imo) never have an impact on playoff hockey. He’s a fringe NHLer still getting chances because of his draft status…

Malkin 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MNHockey19</b></div><div>In addition to this, he would be a true #1 center that we have never had. We have the defensive prospects to handle the losses of Dumba and the others that will have expiring deals like Goligoski, Merill, and Kulikov. Adding a center like this could let Rossi hold on to a solid second spot with Boldy and another prospect in a year or so</div></div>
I don't disagree, but again - when you have $13-14M in dead cap space and have to trade 2-3 players to be able to sign a guy who is very good and I'd love on paper, but you can count on him missing 10-15 games each season and maybe more, it just makes no sense to me.

The surgery he had before the 21/22 season dates back to the 2019/2020 season. He tried to rehab without surgery, the injury got worse in the 2020/21 season and needed surgery. After major surgery, no off-season conditioning, no pre-season, comes back halfway in the 21/22 season with over a PPG. He's healthy.</div></div>
That's not what I'm talking about. He hasn't played 82 games since he has been 22. He gets some sort of injury every year it seems. In the past 10 years he has played more than 70 games only once.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>I like Malkin a lot and he still can play, but signing a 35 year old that has been plagued with injuries his entire year for more than 1-2 years seems like a disaster waiting to happen when you're tied up with $13-14M in dead cap the next 3 years. I'd rather let another team take that chance on him, especially given all the moves we'd have to make to be able to pay him.</div></div>

honestly you could maybe give him 5x5.5 .... hes really good still people like to focus on the negative. i think he just wants to be somewhere that respects him. Penguins without a thought gave Rackell a 5x6 and hes been about a 40p guy the last 4 years. Malkin had 42p in 41gp... idk the last time Rackell was a ppg player

The value on the Pulji trade is probably close to fair. But Oilers should decline this. They already have Yamo, Savoie, Tullio, Hamblin & Griffith in the organization.... No more undersized wingers please.

1) Forget going after Georgiev, go after Vitek Vanecek instead.
Vanecek is A) Younger, B) Better, and C) Will be cheaper to re-sign.
2) Why are we giving up Addison for Sam freaking Bennett? That's an overpay, use one of the various LHD prospects we have like Hunt instead.
