What are the top 5 goalie tandems in the NHL
Best "tandem" is Andersen-Ranta, followed closely by Sorokin-Varlamov
3rd: Bobrovsky-Knight
4th: Quick-Peterson
Swayman-Ullmark is pretty good but gave the edge to playoff success.
Jarry-DeSmith and Talbot-Forsberg have to be in the conversation as well.
Lehner-Thompson in Vegas seems good, but they also have Brossoit as "#2" so I'm not as high on him in the tandem. Interested to see if Lankinen can rebound in Nashville to give them a true duo.
I'm looking at it from best chance to win with either goalie in net for that particular team; as in if the starter went down could you keep winning (with the preface that you are winning more than losing with the starter).
Workhorse goalies with weak backups aren't factored in since they are not a "tandem"; those teams literally fall off a cliff when their starter goes out with injury or has a bad streak. ie Saros in playoffs.
I'd rank Georgiev-Francouz over Husso-Nedeljkovic, Murray-Samsonov and Vanecek-Blackwood but behind those above; mostly due to Francouz stability versus the other #2s

Random Number Generator Mock Draft based off Craig Button Rankings
Personally I have the Jets as winners here. Beneirs is the best prospect in this draft in my opinion and to get him at 18 would obviously be a steal

If Minnesota came away with Brandt Clarke, Aatu Räty, and Ayrton Martino, I’d be a very happy fan. Outside of Minnesota I’d say either Columbus or Montreal had the best draft.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MTLFAN27</b></div><div>Who had the best random number draft?</div></div>
Gotta be the Blue Jackets picking up Guenther, McTavish, and Lucius. Button has them all in the top 16, but I reckon there's a good chance they're all top 10 picks, or at least top 12, especially if the goalies slip. The Avs make out like bandits for their position with Svechkov (don't think he's anywhere near #6, but I am a big fan and would probably take him in the 13-15 range, so he's a steal at 27) and Kirsanov (polarizing guy, definitely high upside though and a quality pickup at 60). Philly does pretty well with Hughes and Samoskevich too.

Fun idea! I may try it out myself if I can find time later.
At this point I'm just going to leave Mailloux unranked in my rankings due to his criminal charges in Sweden.

Would be very surprised to see Stillman not protected. We just signed him to a team friendly deal and he was one of our better D men since he arrived.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jimtrott44</b></div><div>Lundmark, Perfetti and a #1</div></div>
I read the trade as "anywhere" instead of Winnipeg because the Jets are more in need of defensive depth as opposed to additional forwards.

I think next year's 1st and Ylonen is a fair deal value wise.

Agree with all of the above as a Coyotes fan. For example, a Rangers fan offered their 1st this year and Zac Jones, which is fair value, as also confirmed by many others. So something like that.

Wild just need some centers man
Montreal seems to have plenty of wingers, so I gotta believe they keep KK. Except for Suzuki the Habs don't have great centre depth. Staal and Denault are UFAs. Poehling and Evans are iffy NHLers

Garland would be nice but I can't see Montreal landing him, and Patrick would cost more than a 4th, probably a 2nd, I'm not quite sure what his value is.

Well considering he was a former 2nd overall pick and has potential I’m thinking around what Lias Andersson got

Actually, the pp 2 could already be much better without Weber and Staal (Romanov and Armia being included)

Ekholm, saad, oleksiak, dunn, garland, patrick (if he's very cheap and if the habs can suit his health needs) or ullmark would be sick

A big offensive LW and a substitute goalie (to replace Allen) is top of the list.

Vince Dunn, Ryan Murray, Jaden Schwartz, Brandon Saad, could all be good options.

Conor Garland is my guy to watch for that
Depends on how analytical their selection process is
They had Quick over CSchneider in 2016 so... 😬</div></div>
Garland was fantastic at the world championships for team USA so I mean he could be a candidate

I haven't seen him much but think its surely possible. If he plays well, gets enough starts and NYI is a good defense/shutdown/mucker-grinder club.
RUS should have a very reliable-3 GMen to rely on.

Was actually going to say Caufield for USA, what about players that everyone says should make it but really shouldn't. Mine is Sergei Bobrovsky for Russia, terrible numbers and yet everyone says he'll make it.
