<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FunMustBeAlways</b></div><div>Is it really not? Cause this is basically the mindset that lead to Bradley Aldrich sexually abusing college students and vulnerable high-schoolers.
True but you can’t tell me someone who intentionally spread unsolicited nudes didn’t have malicious intent. We’re not talking about accidentally rear-ending someone while driving we’re talking about sex crimes here.
I can deal with “character issues” but when you do as many terrible things as Kane allegedly has over the years, at some point you need to draw the line. He’s been given chance after chance after chance, but ultimately decided to do bad stuff anyway. I’m done with him too.</div></div>
Let me tell you, the greatest criminals never live in jails. So if you're going to ban a kid for his bad deed, you're not going to ban the evil of his heart. So ban the evil of his heart, not the kid. You yourself have no power to change but yourself alone, so judge yourself alone, not others. Let that be your judgment. The kid got what he deserved, for he unveiled the bad deed of the girl, his own bad deed got unveiled before the world, and now he's the recipient of your curses, and the world is going to know him as evil. Trust me, that is a fate far worse than being put into jail. So if he doesn't change himself after all this, then be he gone into hell, but if he changes himself, then he should remain proud.
Kane is a fool, he ruined his own life, but we shouldn't cut off his only route towards salvation, or else what is the difference between us and him.

To judge others is not our duty, but to help them. Teenagers always make mistakes, which doesn't mean their heart is necessarily dirty, and Kane is in a big hole, the only way he can get out of it is by playing hockey which he does well. Give them a chance.

I meant he was their prospect, and no, Fiala is not significantly better than Tuch, + Tuch fits the Minnesota system well.

Rumours are they have been offering 4 mil to Fiala, when he wants 6, Tuch is a more affordable contract for a team that is going to have major cap issues soon, + Tuch is from Minnesota.

Manipulating the cap to its limit

20 mil is more than enough to sign Petersen, Kempe, Vilardi, Anderson, Lias, and JAD, unless Vilardi has a stellar season it might take a little more. Then we don't know what the situation with Brown will be, he might retire, but if he signs it will be for cheap. In any way, there's enough space for all this to go through, it's not like this is going to happen, it's only but a theory.

Manipulating the cap to its limit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ricochetii</b></div><div>You still need cap space to add those players.
It also leaves $25M to sign 12 players for next year. It's not unmanageable, but if those contract year players have the kind of success needed to make an impact, that space could quickly reach a premium.
Brown, Petersen, and a few bridge deals, and suddenly you're in cap hell.
I'm just saying it's unwise to use your cap space that way while also trying to contend. Maybe on 1 year deals at the deadline, <strong>after</strong> you've secured your final roster.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kopitar11</b></div><div>You are correct, but none of those contracts is more than 1 year except Drouin' 2250000 retentions, + they have plenty of cap space freeing up every year for the next 3 years. it's really not an issue for the Kings. Their lineup next year is going to be filled with entry-level contracts anyway.</div></div>
And Zucker too I guess, but you get it, 4.5 mil for one more year is nothing for the Kings.

They have many rookies lined up for a spot, they don't really have much more space to improve the roster. But if they get more draft picks they could use those to get a top defenseman instead of giving up prospects.

Kings lose nothing with these deals except AA, and he's not a major loss. He shouldn't have been re-signed in the first place.

Of course, would be nice, but not for Vilardi, Walker, and a 1st, Doughty is a better mentor than Reilly, and they always could sign guys like Edler to one-year deals.

Replacing Pettersson with Reilly is a massive upgrade, so I think it makes sense for Pittsburgh, it is likely their final year of contention, Letang and Malkin could end up leaving in free agency.
