Offers on Rielly
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>treemos27</b></div><div>I definitely think there is a market for him. Top 4 offensive D that can play big minutes. I agree he could get a first + a player. Something like that.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marnerizov</b></div><div>I think a lot of people on here wouldn't offer a lot for Rielly. Some probably wouldn't even want him and that's fair. Rielly has been underwhelming, to say the least.
But in reality, I think Rielly could probably bring in a first, a roster player and a prospect (probably a B- or A- depending on the quality of the pick)
I know that price seems steep and a lot of people may not agree but, realistic, this type of offer is what Morgan Rielly is capable of bringing in. Especially if there's interest from a few teams.</div></div>
Toronto fans need someone to hate and it's always going to be a skilled player who doesn't hit a tonne.
Rielly isn't a franchise d man or stud number 1.
But he is more than a top 4 here's an undisputed first pairing defenseman and would be the number 1 defenseman on many teams.
First off he's a minute eater. That's a skill.
Offensively he's one of the best in the league. He's 9th in points by a dman the least 3 years
And it's but just being a pp qb he's 4th in even strength pts
He can play in all situations. He's a smooth skater who can play all situations. And until this year he's done it with either scrubs or a very old Haibsey
Is he a stud defensively? No. But he's not bad or a liability.

You could always do a "Players the Leafs were rumoured to get so 400 Leaf fans created CF ACGM rosters 2 minutes after reading it" team.
There should be no shortage of players. You can start with Bobby Orr Weegar, Darcy Kuemper, Radko Gudas and Alex Pietrangelo.

such is the struggle of being a leafs fan :(

On contracts alone I want NOTHING to do with 39 year old $10.5 million carey price or 41 year old $7.857 million shea weber
Marner is a 95 point scorer RIGHT NOW. What happens if he breaks out and has a draisaitl like explosion at 24-25? He's got it in him, and we signed him through his 28th birthday. Trading Marner, especially for some aging guys on obscene contracts would be a disaster
