He has a good shot. Even is his goal totals are down he still does a lot well. I like Foegele but I would take Jarnkrok. Jarnkrok is smarter and just a better hockey player.

He has star potential. Sure, wait two years, but when he does come over the talk might be how he should have been drafted 2nd overall.

Pietrangelo is better than any D the Leafs have by a wide margin. They also had Tarasenko as well. Parayko was also all-world at the time. Binnington stood on his head.
Lindholm is over-rated. He had 60 points last year. Sure he had an 80 point season, when his linemates were both over 100.
But to pick the one team that is close (still blows the team above out of the water) and ignore ALL the other teams over the years says a lot about the flaws in your argument.

The drop off after that is major.
So trading the 5th for the 14th pick would be equally as dumb as trading Bedard for the 5th OA pick.
Now that I explained it to you do you understand?</div></div>
Michkov is the guy that will be there. He’s not Bedard, but he’s real good. Wonder if the Habs will pick him. They should. We’ll see Wednesday.

If u are adding a pick on the flames side you are saying that Liljegren is currently better than Hanifin, will Liljegren be better than Hanifin someday? Maybe but not right now. Let’s say Calgary loses Hanifin but doesn’t have to go into a rebuild, they should just trade for picks because they would still have more than enough guys pushing for top 4 spots. Would Liljegren be nice to have? Sure but they aren’t paying for him.</div></div>

The Time To Win Now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WhoCares_ItsAFantasyGame</b></div><div>This is how you see Dubas’ bad management skills. His core four are based off top 10 first rounders, Marner was luck when Phoenix passed on him and he was in the same year as McDavid and Eichel so they got a great player in a fully loaded draft year. Matthews they got from first overall as a franchise player…
Dubas made a mess in Toronto giving up their future and not thinking things through. He failed as an agent, as a GM and now we’ll see how he messes up Pittsburg.. poor them…
I hope they can clean his mess up. I do hope for the best in Toronto.. Habs are rebuilding, so why not hope for a Canadian team to win just to crap on Bettman..</div></div>
Dubas didn’t draft Marner, Hunter did. There was plenty of talk in the media that Toronto should trade up and draft the big center Strome. Apparently the price for moving up was too high. But if you listened to Hunter prior to the draft he constantly talked about Marner, who played in London, the junior team he owned. He talked about how Marner did what he did at every level he played and he would do it in the NHL. Hunter would then say, “that Barzal kid is pretty good too.”
Habs are in good hands now, but the mess Bergevin left is massive. But sometimes all you need to do is get the ship pointed in the right direction and things happen quickly.
Sadly, Bettman does not care about Canada one bit. He doesn’t understand how the passion in Canada for the game can be infectious if you let it. He’s too busy worrying about Arizona.

That if Shanahan vetoed trades he didn't agree with, then he gave the final approval on if a trade could be done. He DID NOT veto trades he agreed to, he DID veto trades that he disagreed with. Is it really that hard for you to understand who had the ultimate say in all trades? You yourself posted that Shanahan vetoed trades. So explain to me how Shanahan didn't have the final say while at the same time he had the power to veto trades he didn't agree to.</div></div>
Listen little man, watch the Shanahan presser — he states the GM had the final say. There were a couple trades the board vetoed. The one we know about was Knies to Chicago and what a brilliant veto that was. Dumbas is gone, the Leafs will pick in the first round next week.

But he hasn't been good statistically in four straight seasons and his backups haven't been worse than him. In fact collectively they've probably been better. That's either an effort and/or skill problem with Gibson himself. If Gibson gets traded elsewhere and have yet another average season, he'll be completely unmovable. No one should risk assets to acquire that type of potential problem.</div></div>
He reminds me a lot of Matt Murray. Won when younger and lost it along the way. Injured a lot and outplayed by average goalies.
