Latest rumour about Gaudreau offer fair enough
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>flamesfan</b></div><div>If you want gaudreau it starts with Suzuki</div></div>
No it doesn't. Be real! Thats like saying Hall starts with McDavid. Suzuki has proven capable of being a top 6 center and had a higher ceiling that Gaudreau and is 7 years younger. How about Montreal gets Monahan for Drouin then!

It still doesn't cost Suzuki! We wouldn't give up Suzuki for Laine what makes you think we would give him up for Gaudreau?

Lastest rumour about Gaudreau fair offer
Tatar had more goals than Gaudreau last year, and is the better player defensively. On top of that his cap hit is less. Why is Montreal adding multiple pieces to this deal?

Lastest rumour about Gaudreau fair offer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>busdriver</b></div><div>Tatar is older , ufa next year has 347 pts in 9 years . Gaudreau has 444 pts in 6 years.</div></div>
Gaudreau has been in trade rumours for the last 2 or 3 years. Suzuki would not ever be part of a package for him for a few reasons. 1. Montreal has the centers they have been missing for the last 20+ years they are not depleting that for a winger. 2. Suzuki is younger with a higher ceiling and Gaudreau is already rumoured to be heading to Philly in 2 years so he is essentially a rental. 3. The Habs are at the cap limit so including Suzuki + 2 more roster players to make room for Gaudreau is just stupid overpay. We would have to clear 6 Mil to fit him Suzuki only clears 800+ k no way we move 3 roster players for 1 that defeats everything that has been done this off season by MB.

Solid counter point. I guess you really explained why the player who is at least equal in the offensive end, better in the defensive end, and cheaper against the cap has vastly inferior value because of 1 year remaining on a contract instead of 2 years. Silly me thinking performance on the ice and dollar value of the contract should be major considerations.

CH pushing for Hall yr2

Exactly. I would also
Prefer to trade him at high price this summer , but I know Bergevin will give him an albatross of contract soon . I don’t mind trade him because he gets replaced by caufield in 1-2 years

Montreal is back with Hall and Laine
Some people’s value on Laine is absolutely ridiculous, look at the mark stone trade, that’s about what you would get back probably a little higher because of age.

NickDeRose,
If we sign Domi (or if it goes to arb), I'm guessing it'll be for 1 year.
I don't think Evans gets more than NHL minimum salary (with the 1st year being a two way deal, he's still waiver exempt).
Juulsen I'm really not sure how to value, but as a comparable I can see him getting close to Jacob Larrson's two year deal.
I'm guessing that we don't offer QOs to either McNiven or Waked.
Mete at under $1.5mm gets zero offer sheet compensation, and I think a team like Ottawa or many others would easily sign him to that (looking at the Reilly deal last summer and how he ultimately ended up in Ottawa for a late pick).

Top 6F (Domi) + A level prospect (Caufield) + another good young player (Juulsen or Fleury or Mete or Lehkonen) + 2020 1st

Tatar can be moved and Alzner, Weal, & Allen can all come off the books if necessary. There are potential solutions to everything.
