Marner Hardly know her
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>It's a proposal obviously that 3 players fill more holes then 1 player for the same cap hit. As a Hawks fan, I don't love it for that reason. Kubalik and Strome are locked up as RFAs, Marner is a UFA when his term is done. Plus dedicating $11M to one position for the Hawks that is not our biggest need is problematic IMO. Kubalik fills that top line winger role just fine, while Murphy fills our biggest need of more defensive defensemen. Strome is a 3C in Chicago but can be moved separately as part of a package to address our biggest need which is another solid defensive defenseman on the left opposite of Murphy on the right. I just don't see this as being smart for Chicago as such, when for the first time we actually have a ton of cap space.
To the original AGM, this is also a no-go for Chicago as we need enough cap space at minimum to cover the bonuses this year due to utilizing the LITR space in the offseason and season. Bonuses need to be covered first.</div></div>
I said I didn't want this I was just looking into it. Check out my "ideal offseason" for what I actually would like to see! I agree with all your points.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Kubalik, Murphy, Strome = $10.55m
I'd think Leafs want to lower their salary if they deal Marner
Not sure $453,000 is the type of savings they'd be looking for.</div></div>
They can deal strome if they want then for a late first or early second or something, I just wanted to package an offer without involving assets from another mock trade while being as close to the value needed as possible. I wouldn't do this deal as a hawks fan even, just was thinking.

Lean into Rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Carterman13</b></div><div>Oh agreed that Coleman is super underrated and has a great contract and that Tampa doesn’t regret that but 2 firsts is crazy. So if Murphy has a good season next year Boston might be calling.</div></div>
I thought about Boston too, a big solid Irish name would fit on their relatively underwhelming d-group, but want that Philly first

Alex Nylander for Tyson Jost
Gaudette for CFischer
Zadorov for NMerkley
Etc.</div></div>
I love Fischer and tried to use Nylander who I think still could figure it out to get out of a deal that could hurt a huge push towards contention the year after next. Wouldn't mind these moves and also thanks my guy!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Carterman13</b></div><div>Teams get desperate. I mean Blake Coleman fetched 2 first round picks. (Coleman is a great value player but 2 firsts wow).</div></div>
Coleman is a beast and had a great deal, I doubt TBL regrets it obviously bc of the cup though lol. Some wack players have been traded for way more than they should have been. Just look at Stanbo's gem for dale wise and fleishman or however you spell it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Radu47</b></div><div>Why unload Dylan Strome for a pick that might at best become a player as good as Dylan Strome 🤨 especially when there's zero urgency to move him</div></div>
Strome has declined each year as a hawk, and the team needs to tank for a year, which collition's schemes will help, and you never know with the draft. I think Suter is just as effective as a 3C as Strome. Strome was terrible in the playoffs last year and scratched in a huge game against Nashville this year. I think he's out.

I think he's worth a first, but you may have a point, the best time to deal him could be the deadline. Thank you Carterman13

Maybe the Rangers pick, that was my other thought, but Philly seems like they aren't done trying to compete, and need a RD bad. Murphy definitely is worth a 1st though.
