Drury would match
Goodrow would provide the addl cap....he'd be bought out if nobody would take him in a trade
Whatever GM did that to him would have a massive bullseye on his back...what comes around goes around. I think MTL found that out.

I think the Canes do Necas and a 2nd for 1 year of Kane. The salary retention may be worth a 1st, but I doubt it.

don’t think davidson has much leverage to ask for any of these packages after that horrible debrincat deal

I would hope he would, and the Isles absolutely send their 2023 first for him. But for the cap to work Bailey has to go as well, then the Isles could include Koivula who is NHL ready center blocked by their depth and Holmstrom who has developed nicely and close to NHL ready.

Do you think Kane gets more or less than DeBrincat? Personally, I would bet he gets less. DeBrincat is younger, cheaper, and will be an RFA, whereas Kane is older, more expensive (without retention), and will become a UFA. DeBrincat essentially will cost 9mil, whereas right now Kane costs 10.5mil. Unfortunately for Chicago, I think that the return on DeBrincat really shot them in the foot in terms of what Kane will get. My guess would be a 1st round equivalent along with a 3rd round equivalent at this point.

I think a lot of these returns are unrealistic for one year of Patrick Kane. A 1st round pick and a good-but-not-great prospect is the best I think teams will get.

This site is for fun and I'm tired of "classy" people like you crapping on people for playing with a simulator. No one here is a real gm or know what's going on internally. Stop being a d!k to people.

Leafs fans new Mrazek idea
SInce I only comment from the perspective of ME being the Leafs GM...
I'll give points for thinking outside the box, but it's a bitter pill for Chicago fans to swallow. This might be doable if Nick Robertson was included, otherwise Chicago is getting a bit shafted.
If I was Leafs GM, for sure I would do it.
Kerrfoot - Mrazek - Robertson for Toews and 5.25 retained.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Njfj</b></div><div>Has there been a report or rumour surfaced that Smith will be LTIR for the year?</div></div>
It’s largely unknown, but he was injured and couldn’t be bought out. Back injury’s are difficult to come back from so it would make sense to me.

Next year Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Njfj</b></div><div>To be fair, you can just as easily rebuild around 21/22 year olds as you can 18 year olds. Debrincat and Strome are rebuild worthy pieces. You can hold your opinion that you wouldn't trade a top 5 pick for that package, fine, but pretending the offer was made without considering the rebuilding state of the Sens is unjust. It's not like I tried prying away that pick with Patty Kane or something...
Best of luck in the draft, should be a good one for you guys. <3</div></div>
Look at all the comments. I acknowledge the trade is tempting. It makes sense, but it's just something that probably wont happen. Why start paying guys like Strome and Cat when your not ready to make a push yet. Instead you can have two guys on entry level who may up even being better or not. If OTT was more like in the Rangers postion of being on the cusp, I believe they would pull the trigger. Just seems a year too earlier for them. Hey you never know though.
