Next year Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Njfj</b></div><div>To be fair, you can just as easily rebuild around 21/22 year olds as you can 18 year olds. Debrincat and Strome are rebuild worthy pieces. You can hold your opinion that you wouldn't trade a top 5 pick for that package, fine, but pretending the offer was made without considering the rebuilding state of the Sens is unjust. It's not like I tried prying away that pick with Patty Kane or something...
Best of luck in the draft, should be a good one for you guys. <3</div></div>
Look at all the comments. I acknowledge the trade is tempting. It makes sense, but it's just something that probably wont happen. Why start paying guys like Strome and Cat when your not ready to make a push yet. Instead you can have two guys on entry level who may up even being better or not. If OTT was more like in the Rangers postion of being on the cusp, I believe they would pull the trigger. Just seems a year too earlier for them. Hey you never know though.

let me be clear......I don't think this is a good trade...that being said people need to stop disrespecting saad. hes a really solid player who is a proven winner

some leaf fans do this to diminish his value......the comparable would be marner was on the 4th line at one point making him a 4th line player

thats just silly.....he is a 20 goals 50 points per season guy for the majority of his career......thats like calling marner a 4th line winger bc he played on the 4th line before......now idk if you really need to touch this tml team bc they look pretty solid currently unless you're adding to the rhd

bold move cotton
I am starting to have reservations about Schmaltz, he needs to shoot the puck, and being on a line with Kane without a guy who is going to shoot might be rough.
For the record, I’m all for Duchene, for the right price, we just have to figure If Schmaltz can gain some confidence.
Also I’d like to take that conditional first out along with the 4th Ottawa sends to us. Saad and two seconds should be enough to get Duchene.

Yeah idk about Carrick irl, although he was really good for me in NHL 18 lol. He's from Illinois, so it would be cool for the Hawks to take a shot on him

Nylander is several years younger than Saad and reached 60 points TWICE. Something Saad has never accomplished. Not a fair deal

Saad for Nylander
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>It's not a good deal for the Leafs. Saad isn't as good as Nylander and has just three years of control compared to Nylander's five. Sikura is 26 year old minor league and certainly Rutta isn't special enough to fill the cap of Saad and Nylander value.</div></div>
Tyler Sikura is the minor leaguer. Dylan is a good young prospect with really good top 9 and maybe even top 6 potential. I thought Rutta was one of our better defensemen and is definitely an NHL player, unlike Carrick and Ozhiganov, who may or may not pan out

The value is not enough BUT Im not going to be bashing, you gave it a try, Saad is more useful not in Toronto.. ton of young wingers for cheap you know.. I love Sikura, he might be Matthews' playmaker. But I would think that if Nylander goes to Chicago, Jokiharju+ is going the other way.

Chicago says no all day long DeBrincat=Nylander and the rest of that garbage does not equal boqvist... that islanders trade is bad on both sides.

Yes that is correct, 1 season 2 seasons does it matter to Chicago? Your right boqvist isn’t but he most likely will be a good nhl defencemen carrick won’t .... I’ll let the Chicago fans call you out for this if they don’t just laugh and pass it by. I don’t hate nylander for DeBrincat, his contract would make things very easy next season. Sometimes I think too easy.

DeBrincat getting 55 points at a 778,000 is miles better than getting 60 points out of Nylander while having to pay him 8-9 million...
As a chicago fan id take Boqvist and Cat over the non cost controlled player who is asking for the moon despite only getting 61 points this deal does wonders for the leafs cap but ****s up Chicago's cap

Nylander to Chicago
Debrincat's trade value is higher than Nylander's at this exact moment. While Nylander may be the better player, his situation hinders his trade value. Not many teams want to pay him what he wants. And then adding Boqvist is just a slap in the face.

Only way I trade DeBrincat is if it's for a 80 point forward or too pairing D man in his prime. And we both know there's none of those available.
