Having Lindholm
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoDeke</b></div><div>I Like Lindholm alot, but I don't put him in that category. Maybe if he only signs a 3-4 year contract im down with that $8M. But to me $7M at the very max over 5-8 years.
Do you believe Mastro and Wally are actually going to be key cog to our future. They will be good players but man I dont see a place for them. Maybe Wallinder</div></div>
Not all of our prospects will pan out. But like Yzerman says, the more kicks we have at the can the better chances we have of hitting on them. Lindholm is 28 years old, right in his prime. He's a pending UFA and will get paid. Guys like him don't grow on trees. But we're too early in a rebuild to be fast tracking things. I don't believe in trading prospects just for the sake of trading them.

Chevy helping Toews
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoDeke</b></div><div>I hope Toews comes to the parries! Would love to see him in any of those three jerseys. As for the trade. Im worried about Vesalainen, his trade value seems very in the air right now. He needs to start showing a little extra for me to have a bit more confidence in his future.</div></div>
Vesa needs regular ice time with good linemates, but I agree… he needs to start showing up. That’s why I included him… change of scenery type move for him

What makes it happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoDeke</b></div><div>They have an extra 3rd so I feel that’s gone for someone like radulov or kessel. Cuz like May as well add a vet fwd for cheap. I don’t see why the preds need defense? Is it just because of recent Injuries? Like the preds have lots of defensemen in the AHL that can fill the void for a bit.</div></div>
NSH's 3rd pair (Borowiecki and Benning) are both on IR. Myers has been inconsistent. Harpur has been playing like... well, Ben Harpur. There's decent potential in the A, but not a lot of experience. David Poile does love adding a big, slow, bottom pairing defenceman at every deadline.
Rads looks pretty washed. Can't see him holding down a top six role, NSH doesn't want to mess with the 3rd (Herd) line, and they're not hurting for 4th line wingers. Adding Kessel wouldn't hurt, but I can't see Radulov being of any help.

slightly realistic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoDeke</b></div><div>I got players. And honestly i dont really feel we need deep picks. i could care less for that. Hook me up with some rentals to help grow my young guys. Also dont like the idea of Oesterle Juolevi as our best d after the deadline. We need to progress not just give up on the year cuz its the deadline.</div></div>
But then what's the point of trading them and making changes in the locker room? We get two UFAs that aren't really worth resigning, maybe Murray, and all we do is help the other teams with cap.

Gourde isn’t being traded, and neither would Wolf, but a line of Coleman Gourde Järnkrok would be crazy. Järnkrok would be a budget Goodrow, but it would still be a really good line.

Stevie still has to eat half of Panik's salary next season plus Abdelkaders dead Cap is still on the books. Plus another 500k for Nielsen. I don't want eating dead cap space to become a trend with the Red Wings. The extra cap space we have now will be needed down the road.

BIG Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>David Pagnotta was on the NHL Network the other day and asked about players Pittsburgh could target he said Pittsburgh isn't interested in a rental and would like a player with term some term left. His reason for adding Bertuzzi to the list was that several teams have shown interest in him in the past.</div></div>
Makes sense, I don't think they have the pieces Detroit would want.

I'm guessing some Pens reported said that bertuzzi would be really good there so everyone is making the trades now. Usually what happens on this site.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoDeke</b></div><div>Its so true, i hope the young guys on Dallas are good enough to be a 3rd line soon cuz it would really help. I wonder if Nill has any tricks up his sleeve, i feel shedding radulov is a perfect opportunity to possible beef up the team. other than that not sure what ya do. Would trading Faska now somehow pay off now and in the long term? the whole klingberg things is an F show.</div></div>
Radulov's contract is luckily expiring this year so he's not going to be a "burden" for long. He was good, but he's clearly past his prime.
Klingberg situation is interesting. He's been a part of our core for over half a decade now, as it's natural he'd expect to get the same treatment as Benn and Seguin did in terms of their contracts, which were handed out to them immediately after the last year of it started. But with Klingberg they realized that A) Seg's and Benn's contracts are mistakes that started to hurt them before long and B) they need that money to ink our younger (and now better) talent in Heiskanen and Hintz in the past and now with Robertson and Oettinger this coming offseason. Klingberg, quite naturally, took this a bit personally, thinking that he's not appreciated enough to get signed with big money contract. At the end of the day Klingberg wants to commit somewhere for the rest of his career, but DAL also needs him this year for the playoff run, and Klingberg still seems to want to stay in Dallas. I think he'll end up as our own rental, but there are no winners in this situation where they've ended up. Only losers.
As for trading Faksa...I like the guy and what he brings to our bottom-6, but he's too expensive for the role. I'd be open to move him.

Do the canes do anything
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoDeke</b></div><div>Ya i feel the biggest thing he does is swap Bear for a more stout D-MAN.</div></div>
The only reason I think they’d deal Bear would be for cap in a Chychrun deal or similar, which I guess is what you’re saying. I suppose, I’ll say I don’t think they want to deal Bear or any current roster D, but add. I keep coming back to a guy like Kulak.
I think MTL could be a one stop shop for the Canes if they could get both Lekhonen and Kulak away from them, within reason. By saying that, I don’t think the Canes would deal assets like Morrow, Drury or their 2023 1st, all of which MTL would likely ask for in one form or another.

I don't think they'll trade him.
With anchor contracts like Benn's and Seguin's we need some promising players under ELC around.

The HABS would probably ask 2x1st rd picks just to piss off the Carolina owner. I honestly don`t think the HABS and Canes will make a trade for the next couple of years.</div></div>
The Habs ask is also a 1st + for Lehkonen and if they don't get that will just keep him since he is under team control for at least another year.
