I agree. I just don't want Anymore poorly aging deals. Monahan, I can forgive because it was injuries and unforeseeable. Lucic, was better than Neal. Huberdeau won't age well in those last 3 years. Unlike Kadri, Huberdeau doesn't play a rough and tumble type game. I can see Kadri declining faster. I'd prefer not signing him, despite the "fit" he has with the flames.

Devils, last I saw, were 12th in revenues.
They have very well-funded ownership group.
And have no cap problems unless they make a big addition.

I think the Devils can address more pressing needs if they trade Severson than adding a dman they don't really need.

I'm surprised Kadri has been tied to the flames in rumors. I feel like he's the perfect fit there.

Capfriendly needs to step in and decline trades :tearsofjoy</div></div> Actually the Wheeler trade for Okposo is close, it is just Kyle moved his family to Buffalo shortly after he signed with the team.
He has had health issues for many years and Krueger did not know how to manage an NHL team, nor the players.
It would be a huge disservice to trade him.

Buffalo passes. Okposo is going to likely be the Captain and will probably sign a team friendly deal next off-season.

Unlikely Winnipeg considers trading a center for a winger that will demand to be highly overpaid.

PLD 4 TKUCKY
-PLD is a fine high-end 2C/low-end 1C who's been more or less a 60-point guy in his career to date; Tkachuk might be a winger but he plays a more physical game and has been a PPG the last 4 years. Winnipeg adds a good prospect or pick to their side to make it even.
-No one to fill Mayfield's RD3 slot and the left side is more or less set with Pelech-Romanov-Salo. Personally, I wouldn't -hate- adding another LD and letting Salo develop a little more, but not at the cost of Mayfield - there's no one in the org besides Grant Hutton who can fill that RD3 (and I like Hutton but not that much.)
-Kyle's a fan favorite in Buffalo and part of the team leadership there, I don't think the Sabres want to mess with the chemistry they've built with such a young team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>Ottawa is not spending assets to dump cap when we are not up against the cap.
Try again.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoDeke</b></div><div>You are right they really have no reason to dump someone unless they really really want gustavson and forsberg combo for some unknown reason. I'd maybe pay a fourth for him on second thought. If OTT signs giroux and trades for a D man it would tighten up the cap a bit.</div></div>
Depending on the number that Norris, Joseph, and Forementon contracts come in at then if they do make a move for another top 6 forward and top 4 D, while they would technically have cap space to keep Murray for next season, he really does need to be moved before next summer when you have to do Stuzlte's contract which I would say will likely be the highest AAV on the team.
So with that in mind, I would move him now if possible and I would think it does take a 2nd to do so. Using Tampa's 2nd which is laer in the round would be expendale in that senario.
Forsberg and Gus would be a great duo for the Sens to run all next season for a couple of reasons.
1. Forsberg got Vezneia votes this season and he could become a long-term true NHL starter which they need to give him the games to figure out.
2. Gus has not reached his ceiling just yet, I think he ends up being a great backup or 2B, but not sure if he is a true starter, however, if he gets around 30 games this season I think that can be answered some.
3. Sens also still have Sogard the 6'8 21 year old Danish goalie who is a really high-level prospect (WHL goalie of the year, lead European team to championship) and needs to get ALL the starts in the AHL this season.

Nope. Minnesota isn't trading 1st pairing, cheap dman in Middleton. He's not available. Don't know how you have in title it's overpay for him when Minnesota gave up Kaapo kahkonen for him and he was 1st pairing dman for Minnesota and really cheap who Minnesota will resign

Blues accept. I actually think Oesterle has a pretty decent transition game. Wouldn’t mind him on the occasional bottom pairing.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoDeke</b></div><div>I feel ya man, but with prospects we have had in the organization, i feel Steve has that eye to be like ya i could keep him, but may as well move on cuz he aint gunna be what i need when i need it.
i agree It is a bit too early for a Lindholm(type)! But would also be okay with him being a vet for us when we are dope and i like that old young balance.</div></div>
I agree with you in that whichever team trades for Lindholm will have a great chance of re-signing him. But your trade offer won't get it done. It'll be higher and I don't believe Yzerman pays that.
It really depends which team acquires him. Do they have the cap space to pay him next season? Let's say it's Toronto. They have no cap space. He's not extending there. Rangers? They have lots of cap space. Well until the Fox contract kicks in. Flames? Is Johnny Gaudreau leaving as a UFA? If he stays then they have no cap space to extend Lindholm.
Red Wings have a ton of cap space and this gives them an advantage come UFA. Signing Lindholm and giving up no assets makes sense to me. I'm sure he'd listen to that Nick Lidstrom guy. 😉
