Indeed. Devils don't have the money to have him possibly play. It doesn't matter to zona they can work around him getting back in, if he can.

What are you talking about? Do a Devils roster as it stands right now....but have Bernier as a 3rd scratch and they still can make it work. Remember, you can still only have three scratches in any case and the Devils can do that with ELC and low cost guys.

Devils, last I saw, were 12th in revenues.
They have very well-funded ownership group.
And have no cap problems unless they make a big addition.

ya real tight up against the cap. Its not something I'm saying the Devils HAVE to do. Just dont see why they would keep him. Not really giving up much, just a chance for him to get playing again. If ya really like tyce thompson im sure zona may even just take a late pick.

Why not know you have $4Mill in cap instead of possibly having or not having that cap. Having the space keeps you open to more opportunities.

That's true...but we have been rebuilding so long, we are just not conditioned to think that way.

Panik costs $250K against the cap if he is in the minors, assuming no one picks him up on waivers.

No need to spend any draft picks to move him.
