A Not So Pretty Opening Night Lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruceWayne17</b></div><div>Again, this is OPENING NIGHT lineup. I imagine they are going to protect Mitts and Cozens early on and figure out how they want the lines to flow. I also expect a lot of movement trying to find lines that mesh.
While Skinner isn't playing worth anything near his contract, he still provides more all around upside than Olofsson, who is a 1 trick pony. Cozens has enough skill to set Olofsson up in a good situation to score and they will be doing it against the opponents lesser lines likely.</div></div>
Exactly yeah also super crucial to boost Jeff's stats to have a glimmer of hope of maybe moving his contract in future so this seems like a tactful lineup all told
Tho ideally he plays beside mittsy's playmaking
Maybe if they use zemgus and asply to soak up the d zone starts and tough QoC so they can let those two ^ boost up numbers etc. Lots of options. Challenging.

Reuniting Eichel and Reinhart
Goaltending looks a little suspect. But from an outsiders perspective who does not care much for Eichel... I feel this environment would be good for him. You have an established leadership with Barkov and Huberdeau so he isn't put in a spot to be "the guy". He can play with solid wingers. There's some meat on the team to protect him.
Value wise in the trade, I have no idea. Bob would have to waive from Florida to go to Buffalo, seems unlikely.

Reuniting Eichel and Reinhart
Easy accept imo lol
If bobrovsky wasn't included then this is a decline, but i would easily give up lundell and tippett plus a 1st to get rid of bob and add eichel
However it won't happen, since bob won't waive and if not then we don't have cap space for eichel anyway

Reuniting Eichel and Reinhart
I am curious to see a Florida fans perspective on this trade. Definitely a substantial amount they would be giving up. But the acquisition of Eichel, dumping of Bob, and subsequently a 1-2 punch of Eichel and Barkov? Intriguing for sure.

Eichel Sweepstakes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruceWayne17</b></div><div>I agree their current moves definitely seem they are staying patient. Ducks are unlikely at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if they throw their hat back in the ring. We shall see.</div></div>
Yeah, I just feel like the reason they're being included in the rumors is strictly out of convenience. They've got cap space. They've got high end propsects. They've got what are likely high picks. From a true asset management perspective though, there's absolutely zero point in them doing this.
Plus, imagine 8-10 months from now, when the Ducks are (inevitably) at the bottom of the standings. Aside from the neck thing, isn't one of Eichel's biggest gripes right now the lack of team performance? What happens when he has his NMC kick in, and demands a trade? Just a big 'ol set of handcuffs and a kick in the arse for GMBM.

Eichel Sweepstakes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruceWayne17</b></div><div>I don't disagree, I would think their best idea would to stay the course with the rebuild, but GMBM seems desperate to make something happen quick this year as it seems that his job is very much on the line.</div></div>
I don't know about desperate...the Ducks have been pretty quiet so far this offseason, which (IMO) shows that they're being patient which is the right move.
Again, just my opinion, but re-signing Getz for that dollar value showed that they're intent on keeping him around to mentor the young future core. Otherwise, they could have spent a bunch of money upgrading in free agency.

Eichel In Sin City
Considering Vegas is a threat to win the cup I don't think those picks cut it, especially since all three players they're getting are unlikely to ever be elite NHL players.

More Eichel Trade Ideas Because Thats All This Site Is Now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>And how would you feel if after trading away those assets (including two players expected to contend for a spot on the roster this year), on the first day of training camp, Eichel's doctors announced that he wasn't ready to play, perhaps for half the season, perhaps all of it? As a fellow Kings fan, don't you think that we should have some kind of insurance against that risk, however small that risk might be?
I'm not a big believer in an Eichel trade, especially one in the absence of proven game performance. But reasonable minds can differ, and I can even accept being in the minority here.</div></div>
Without Turcotte and Kaliyev, the team still has a top 5 prospect pool in the league. You make that bet every single time, even if he misses a full year, because he is only 24 and on a long term contract. The team will still get net positive value even with the possibility of a burned year. I'm not worried about the possibility of $10M off the ice for a year; the team just went through that with $10M worth of Phaneuf and Kovalchuck coming off the books this year.
Personally, I think a trade would be closer to 2021 1st + Kempe + Turcotte, but the details are close to irrelevant. This would be a bigger acquisition than Richards who was (2nd round?) Pick + Simmonds + Schenn (Top prospect at the time).

Zegras and Drysdale are reportedly untouchable. No point trading either one of them right now for a player that doesn't immediately catapult them into a playoff contender.

Well actually the return we got from Boston is better than what the Devils got for Palms and Zajac. 2 busts and a low 1st is worse imo than a middle 6 forward and a 2nd. At least Bjork is an NHL calibre player and I do like the way he plays. Not an ideal return no, but when Mr. Ego has the power to choose where he will exit in the 1st round, then who are we to stop him

lets spark skinner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruceWayne17</b></div><div>Your article yesterday really convinced me he is good where he is at currently, and the goals will start to come eventually. You thinking get him a few goals with Eichel to jump start and move him back?</div></div>
a few days ago i was fine with him on the third line. his line was creating high danger chances but they just had bad luck when it came to finishing those changes. i thought the goal scoring would come but its now 8 games in and im starting to get worried. we can't say "yeah hes getting chances, the goals will come" anymore because it's been 8 games, the goals should have came by now. skinner is currently -2.07 goals above expected which is the worst on the sabres BY FAR. so skinner should be moved onto a line with jack for about 2 games just to see if that gets jeff going. if it doesn't, then its time to hit the panic button.
