Former 1st rounder and more close to nhl Ty Dellandrea is the obvious choice.
Unless you think strangest has more potential (he doesn't)

Keeping Klingberg
I like the salary configuration, but I don't see Kiviranta being left un-signed, and if Faksa is forced to be Dallas' 2nd line center I am going to gnaw my own arm off and beat random strangers on the street with it.
Assume this plays out the way you've laid out here & Kiviranta gets his contract. Should be left with $5Mish left to play with. Depending on how Pavelski does this year, I wouldn't mind bringing him back (or any capable veteran top-6 center) on a 1-year deal to be the 2C until Bourque steps into that role.
I'm also going to get violent with strangers if Khudobin is still in Dallas for the 2022-2023 (assuming Bishop is NOT taken by Seattle).
**EDIT** before anyone thinks I'm serious about beating up strangers, just know that it's a joke. I hope my blatant sarcasm is not mis-read.

With the overages from last season, Dallas doesn't have the cap space to make this move. And even without the overages, Dallas better be praying we don't hit our bonuses this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NuttySquirrel</b></div><div>This is pretty much my dream scenario. I'd love to get another top 6 winger but I think the roster is good enough without. If Denis can really step up, I think we'd be set</div></div>
I toyed with adding Gustav Nyquist as an UFA winger, although not necessarily a top 6, he put up 60 points last season. I think you could get him for roughly $5M season and might be in play. I think Panarin, Duchene, etc. are too expensive, assuming we re-sign Zucc and add either Strälman or Gardiner.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NicholasM2699</b></div><div>Johns isnt healthy and cant make it through a week of concussion protocol. He is now saddled with Martin Hanzal as locks for LTIR.</div></div>
Stars beat for The Athletic (Sean Shapiro) actually posted an article today saying that Johns has been skating for a while. He looks and feels better than he has since the injury. He may not be 100% cleared yet, but he's trending in the right direction, and Nill expects him to be a player for them come September.

News report today from an Ottawa area newspaper claiming that Karlsson hopes that the Sens and the Habs make competitive offers for his services b/c his wife is homesick for the Ottawa area. Apparently if he plays for either team he can get her back to where she wants to be. I think most people who are speculating are saying the Habs because EK going back to Melynk seems like a real stretch.
I guess a lot depends on how you define "competitive?"

It's better. Still don't think Strålman would accept that contract, though. Also gotta consider that if DAL goes after a high-end D-man at free agency, and the guy is likely to get a NMC on his contract, making it's mandatory to protect him at the expansion draft, which means goodbye to Lindell.
Also I think you've overpaid Kapanen. Imo not one season alongside Matthews makes him worth a 5x5 contract. Even TOR wouldn't pay him that contract, and DAL is much tax-friendlier city to play in.

There's no way those UFA D-men will accept those contracts. Also we are not going to get that high price for Nuke. 0 goals this year, his value is all-time low.

EDM trade from CHI perspective

There's some skewed stats prior to Strome coming to the Hawks for sure. He was tossed around much like last year. Even playing on the third line too. He only got (4) 5V5 assists from Kane though so...no biggie. That % will also decrease a bunch since he won't be playing with them anymore either. Still 12 games left!

Bishop is on IR retroactive to about a week or so ago. Not the LTIR. He is supposed to start either Thursday or Saturday.
in your scenario its part of the trade, I'm saying I do not see the Stars taking that 6mil AAV for another 4 years. Stars are in no means taking that. they would rather use that 6mil on a pending UFA.
If you think Guhle is better than Lindell you clearly have not watched him at all this year. He is pairing with Klingberg on the top pairing and is the Stars best penalty killer he also stepped up earlier in the season when Klingberg was out with his hand injury. Lindell is in line for an extension and is probably getting somewhere in the ballpark of 4.5-5.5x8.
Also if Guhle is that good why has he only played 2 games with Buffalo this year? (Not saying that as a knock on him, I am just curious as to why he is in the AHL at the moment.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>1. According to every source I read, he is already on the IR with no timeline for a return set.
3. Its part of the trade.
4. Yes Guhle would be, he is already better than Lindell. Just because the Sabres mismanaged their roster and have left him in the AHL while keeping with trash in the NHL doesnt mean hes an AHL talent.</div></div>
Better than Lindell? Please pass on whatever you are smoking. Lindell has turned himself into one of the most underrated defensive blue liners in the game. He's spent more time on the PK than every player in the league, with the exception of 4 of them. He almost single-handed kept an injury torn defense together and they are now the 2nd best defense in the league. As good as Klingberg is offensively, you're looking at his counterpart defensively. Guhle is nowhere close to Lindell right now.
