Dellandrea or Stranges? I'll let you two decide.

Former 1st rounder and more close to nhl Ty Dellandrea is the obvious choice.
Unless you think strangest has more potential (he doesn't)

Dellandrea have more value than Stranges but Petry isn’t worth Dellandrea & a 2nd RD pick, especially when no salary is retained (but Faksa is a cap dump)

I would rather have Stranges and no retention on Petry than Dellandrea and retention on Petry

The deal is a 2nd to dump faksa, and petry for dellandrea
Without retention

So @nuttysquirrel

Dellandrea + Faksa + 2nd for Petry

You can’t trade Petry full cap hit for a good pick or prospect without bad salary coming back the other way

No interest in Petry especially without salary retained. Benn isn’t a top six forward any more. Run Guri-Johnston-Segs second line. Perterson-Benn-Stankoven/Studenic third line. Tufte-Glendening-Raffl fourth line. They’re feeding Tufte heavy defensive minutes and PK time in CP, so I’m hopeful he’s being groomed to replace Faksa as the beef on the checking line. Skip Barbanov. I like the idea of bridging JRob and Oetter, but I think if you can get JRob on a Brady Tkachuk deal you go ahead and do it

his age and salary are too high to have that type of value. you'd have to give somewhere.

A team who missed out on Klingberg and/or Letang could make a good offer for Jeff Petry

Like Hugues said, if he receives a good offer, he will trade Petry
If he doesn’t, then Petry is still under contract for 3 more years and he stays a Habs
So unless a decent offer comes in, Petry stays in MTL. K.Hughes isn’t dumping him like some Habs fans are doing

I would give Faksa and a 2nd round pick for Petry. Final offer.

No way, I would give a 21 years old that we don't even know how he will develop.

Of course, 99,99% of Habs fans will refuse, and I feel fine with that also.

Why? Montreal will try to accommodate Petry, but they aren't going to just trade him. He's also gone back to the player he's always been once Ducharme got fired.

If Montreal is eating the cap of a player they don't need, they better get a pick/prospect that makes it worthwhile.

hes beter but he's not the same player. with his age and salary you can't demand top compensation. habs are getting a good prospect and a 2nd. not to mention faska isn't that bad he's just having a down year.

Based on what exactly? Most of his underlying numbers, especially relative to the rest of the team, are better under MSL than they were in previous seasons.
