Edmonton trade for Karlsson!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>hey, I'm an NHL superstar that can get 8 figures wherever he wants....hmmmmm I think I'll sign in the coldest, dreariest place in the NHL that also has the least sunlight and a pretty bad tax situation. And they didn't make the playoffs. Sounds like a plan!</div></div>
Hey im an armchair GM, that can pretty google any facts that he wants... hmmmmmm ill just make up random stuff, blog about it to sound like i know what i'm talking about, just to look like an idiot.... Sounds like a plan!

Another Karlsson trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mk458</b></div><div>Still, as of right now we have 1 top 4 RHD, Larsson. We have both Klefbom and Nurse on the left, not to mention Russel. And sekera will come back at some point, and it's not like his contract is going to be easy to trade. That's way more NHL dmen on the left side than the right</div></div>
EK is a huge step up from Larsson, average ice time for Larsson was 21:56 last year, average ice time for EK was 26:44. Which means 2nd paring RHD which is likely Benning doesnt need to make up TOI, can play a proper ice time while EK is playing an extra 5 mins per game. Sekera is basically on Ference island, when was the last time a 32 year old with 2 major leg injuries even can back to play. He will be on LTIR the remainder of his contract, his legs will never be the same.

Another oiler D fix
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>boyd1212</b></div><div>Why would Cup contender Nashville trade their Norris finalist defenseman?
Klefbom is a good player, but he doesn't expand or extend the Cup window.</div></div>
Because next year they will have 15mill to sign Renne, Josi, Hartman, Fiala, Sissons. Is it doable, sure with their GM, they may not be getting a norris candidate dman back, but still a top 4 with half of subban salary.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>You guys should jump on this, lucic without retention gone?</div></div>
I know everyone rags on Lucic, but his entire careers hes only had a half season that was bad. Been very consistent his whole career. He is still a top 6 winger. I would rather keep him, then trade him only to lose assets for teams to take his contact

This is an interesting trade. Our D get older but more experienced. Baertschi has shown potential to be a top 6 player. Swap out Del Zotto for Hutton and I would do this deal

EDM Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sidsoul88</b></div><div>This.
Faulk is a 1/2 pairing D on a lot of teams. Canes aren't sending him off for free. I don't think the Skinner trade is fair comparison for him.</div></div>
Faulk a 1/2? This is whats being said about Faulk
-Carolina has had some questionable goaltending over the years (save 2013 and 2015). If they just received average goaltending over this timeframe, they would have been about 75 goals better – and that’s substantial.
But Faulk’s numbers are even worse. Faulk’s on-ice save percentage is 90.7. That means that in the minutes Faulk has been on the ice, Carolina is 52 goals worse than league average and 27 goals worse than what Carolina could have reasonably expected with their goaltending talent.
About that 90.7 save percentage: It’s the worst number of any defender in the past six years, true by a considerable margin:
Doesnt sound like a 1/2 d man to me....

On paper this trade works, but it creates another hole for the Oilers on wing. Oilers wont do this trade unless an almost ready winger is brought back, for this trade to work it will require multiple parts

Trade With CAR
If this was mid season or last off season, Faulk for RNH would have been a no brainer. But now that RNH is on Mcdavids wing, he was on pace for 90+ points, will that happen, not likely, but its not out of the realm that he nets 70-80 points playing on McDavid's wing. So based on assumption, would you trade a 70 point winger making 6 mill who is 25 years old?

I get you said it doesnt happen but that's a terrible value for Boston Bouchard suppose to be a good dman but that's the only good think in the trade beside the 1st could be once again top 10.</div></div>
Yes but my trade had context to it. Young top end D for top end prospect, B level wing prospect, Top 9 winger and a 1st overall .
You are offering an aging Dman for 19 year RW with tons of potential..... Spurgeon has maybe 4-5 good years left. JP may have 10-15...

Unfortunately Faulk doesn't have the value to net a return for a really good center. Skinner had more value then him and it only got them a decent prospect and picks.

IMO Faulk isn't worth much, I don't think I'd have him above Benning on the roster. Benning's 5v5 stats are much better.</div></div>
Its very likely at this point Sekera career is done, will be on Ference Island on LTIR for remainder of contract
