I doubt Vancouver will want Russell back but they'd be happy with the 1st and 3rd for Tanev. That's a big overpayment.

From a canucks standpoint losing Tanev would suck cuz he's perfect to shelter Juolevi or Hughes.

Value seems fair as although canucks are getting a first and 3rd they have to take back Russell.

From an oilers perspective they add a skilled winger and thorough defenceman.

That skilled winger is at best a 3rd liner who will chip in from time to time but he doesn't make most playoff teams. He was let go by TO because he had no chance of making their team. Good guy and works hard but he's limited and his ceiling is 3rd line winger at best.
