Yes Husso will either suck again or not even play.
If all it takes is a 4th to dump him Detroit should do it.
Who are you getting in the 4th round?
A player who will most likely never sniff the NHL? 🙄

The UFA signings are pretty solid. But Duchenne probably ends up as the 2C because that offer isn't getting Lundell. Even if FL is forced to trade him, the return is going to be better than that. No clue on the Husso trade. Detroit fans above say no way, so gotta go along w/ that I guess.

Next Season Peak
This isn't too bad! I'm good w/ kicking the tires on Knight, as long as the price isn't too steep. The Panthers likely need to move him, but it's going to take more than a 3rd. Duclair likely re-signs in Tampa. Rest of the UFA signings seem feasible.

Next Season Peak
I think CHI should be interested in something like this. If Knight can get through some of this mental health stuff and come back to the game strong, he could be a good long term option for CHI in net, and someone to give Commesso and Gajan some roster competition down the road, when they are ready to join the NHL ranks. BUT, I'm not sure CHI would pay for him. I guess it really depends on whether they have done their due diligence and think he can rebound.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pat_Foley</b></div><div>1. I like The Ceci trade, agree with the lost faith in Phillips. Might be beneficial for the other glut of LHD we have and Phillips himself, too.
2. I don't see anyone giving anything of value to Taylor Raddysh, but hope I'm proven wrong I guess.
Question: What made you lean Kaiser at the 3rd LHD over Del Mastro? Not disagreeing, just genuinely curious.</div></div>
I’m not sure what we are getting in Ceci, and so I went with Kaiser based on NHL experience, handedness, and an abundance of caution to not rush EDM. I think he (Kaiser) has the inside track to the nhl next season, and another year in the AHL may be best for EDM’s development of his offensive game.

I'm actually a bit impressed with Leaf fans restraint in addressing #6. My popcorn is cold and stale and I'm bored. This had the making for some real fireworks, but fell way short.

If the best offer the Hawks get for TRad is a 3rd, they just keep him and re-sign him. Mrazak half retained might get a 2nd, but the chances of that seem slim. Dickinson half retained is worth a 2nd without the Hawks adding an extra pick. TJ and Beau half retained probably accurate, although I don't think the Hawks will burn a retention slot for less than a 3rd. That last Leafs trade is something. Way to finish strong!

I think he's worth more than a 3rd imo. If that's the best return for him I'd rather keep him and see if he turns it around next season. In fact I'm hoping he's not traded at this year's deadline.

Deadline pt 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pat_Foley</b></div><div>What about a 4th? Or is the cap space/player the bigger issue?</div></div>
No it's mostly that I don't think there's really a fit for Johnson here. Colton is tearing it up on the 3rd line, Johansen has been fine on the 2nd line, and I personal don't think he is usable as a wing. And yes, the cap is a bit too much.

I kinda doubt CHI burns a retention slot for anything less than a 2nd, but, if it's down to the wire and the retention slot is still available and it's a pending UFA like TJ, sure, why not.

Early Idea of 24-25
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pat_Foley</b></div><div>Enjoy mediocrity. Have fun!</div></div>
Damn you told me, thats why Backlund signed an extension right? Because he didn't want to be in Calgary. Thats why insiders are saying Lindholm is likely to extend too right?
Just because you have no clue what a No Move Clause is doesn't mean you have to get salty about it. Go look it up instead. Chicago isn't going to make the playoffs for at least 4 more years, Calgary will probably make the playoffs is at least 3 of those next 4 years. So tell me, why would Markstrom waive to Chicago?

Not if his next contract is gonna cost anywhere close to his rumored asking price. I'd stay away from that one

Ideal Lines
I think RW on the Bedard line will be a revolving door the first half of the season. Raddysh, Johnson, AA, Kurashev all get looks along w/ Donato. Someone will grab it and make it theirs. The Reichel line was bad last night. Lots of speed for sure. But a ton of broken plays and turnovers too.

This whole situation with Kurashev kind of seems like lip service and has the makings for a possible trade in the near future. I'm not even pointing fingers or insinuating it wouldn't be justified, and i'm also not saying Kurashev shouldn't ask for more. I like Kurashev, but, personally, I don't really see a clear place for him in next seasons roster, let alone with the future of the Hawks, and I wouldn't be the least bit upset if he weren't back next season. Sure, in hindsight it could be a regrettable decision, as could trading any player away, but hindsight is 20/20.</div></div>
I like Kurashev but I am not really seeing how this could possibly head to arbitration. Like dude...your career high is last season at 9-16-25 in 70 games. Sure, I think the box score doesn't reflect the player he completely is, he plays hard/gives great effort but you're 23 and have scored 62 points in 191 games.
I do agree I think within the next 2 seasons he won't be here anymore but I am curious to see what Davidson has offered him...anything more than $1.5M is too much for his current production imo.

Well, the thing is, people automatically think of arbitration as a negative, but it is a players right to elect for arbitration. It really doesn't have to be a negative thing. Look at it more as a tool to get an outside perspective that helps everyone get the right deal. I think, by giving him a baseline qualifying offer, he full expected, and probably encouraged, that Kurashev would file for arbitration. It's a tough time to figure out what the right numbers are because of the flat cap coupled with the predicted rise in the salary cap, players would like to get ahead of the curve and teams don't want to treat their players fairly will not getting themselves locked into contracts that could become a problem.
Sometimes the situation becomes negative, but it isn't inherently a negative thing.

Hall and Murray Sign Compher
CHI isn't giving up the OTT pick in the Murphy trade. Davidson has made it clear that he is not looking for goaltending and is comfortable with Mrazek and Soderblom going into next season. But, if CHI were to acquire Murray to get that BOS 1st, personally, I'd buyout Murray before I'd buyout Mrazek.
Otherwise, I like what you've done here. Hall and Compher would be fun and interesting additions.

Leafs get back the Rangers 2nd at best in that Murray trade. See no need for the Hamonic signing. Korchinski plays 9 games at most for Hawks. He's going back to the WHL next season.

Don't see the Hawks taking on Mantha for just a 3rd. He really hasn't been healthy or that good since the 18-19 season in Detroit. And I definitely wouldn't put him on a line w/ 2 rookies. Rest of this seems very realistic though.
