Ryan Warsofsky - Celebrini - Stamkos
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoSeider53</b></div><div>:laugh Stamkos isn't a 1C anymore, And $7,000,000 in Florida is worth more than $10,000,000 in high tax California. No freaking way is Stamkos playing on the West Coast on the worst team in the NHL.</div></div>
California state tax is 7.25% idiot. So the tax makes it 7M vs 9.25M before federal taxes which are not state dependent. Cost of Living will likely be more impactful than the taxes. You can be smart about it, though, especially since Stamkos is already wealthy. The bad team aspect, especially choosing more money over staying with the Lightning aspect, is why this idea is just as dumb as your tax take.

Another Look at 24-25
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoSeider53</b></div><div>That pathetic offer isn't getting you Anton Lundell out of Florida, And Florida easily matches the 3x3 offer you're giving him.
Yeah sorry Detroit isn't attaching no 4th round pick to move Ville Husso. And far chance he's waiving for a bottom feeder anyways.</div></div>
That's why I asked thoughts on the offer. I think they should let Reinhart walk but given the lack of comparable trades for Lundell on the Florida Armchair GM side of things I took a stab at it.
Detroit can keep Husso for all I care, just trying to find a good option for both since he'll probably suck next year again.

Offseason
1. I like The Ceci trade, agree with the lost faith in Phillips. Might be beneficial for the other glut of LHD we have and Phillips himself, too.
2. I don't see anyone giving anything of value to Taylor Raddysh, but hope I'm proven wrong I guess.
Question: What made you lean Kaiser at the 3rd LHD over Del Mastro? Not disagreeing, just genuinely curious.

I agree, I just don't see anyone we move off of with term left. I don't want to move Murphy because he is the perfect right pair guy for a young d-man, especially Korchinski. I could've included a Mrazek deal too and could definitely see it, but figure we only make one or two moves so we don't fully fully bottom out

Early Idea of 24-25
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Damn you told me, thats why Backlund signed an extension right? Because he didn't want to be in Calgary. Thats why insiders are saying Lindholm is likely to extend too right?
Just because you have no clue what a No Move Clause is doesn't mean you have to get salty about it. Go look it up instead. Chicago isn't going to make the playoffs for at least 4 more years, Calgary will probably make the playoffs is at least 3 of those next 4 years. So tell me, why would Markstrom waive to Chicago?</div></div>
Oh that wasn't related to Markstrom that was more a comment on the city of Calgary in general and losing Tkatchuk and Geaudreau your best players since iginla for next to nothing. Backlund wouldn't get more and reports dont matter, action does.

Enjoy mediocrity. You'll be in 8th in the West and not want to sell your players who will leave in the offseason, then be bottom feeders again only to build back up and have your players not want to live in Calgary again in 5-10 years. Have fun!

On par with Suzuki and Boldy's extensions, factored in with the rising cap over the next few years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>I am probably in the minority here. This whole situation with Kurashev kind of seems like lip service and has the makings for a possible trade in the near future. I'm not even pointing fingers or insinuating it wouldn't be justified, and i'm also not saying Kurashev shouldn't ask for more. I like Kurashev, but, personally, I don't really see a clear place for him in next seasons roster, let alone with the future of the Hawks, and I wouldn't be the least bit upset if he weren't back next season. Sure, in hindsight it could be a regrettable decision, as could trading any player away, but hindsight is 20/20.</div></div>
I 100% agree with that - he really hasn't proven himself to be that piece but is still technically young enough to justify giving minutes. He will be around likely another season but I'd say about a 40% chance he is a hawk in 2024-25. 3 Scenarios - He proves himself useful enough and gets another 1 year or so, A vet will take his place that is an upgraded depth piece (3-4 MM AAV on a short deal), or a young prospect takes his slot in the lineup. Could see him as a trade deadline "hockey trade" for a different piece.

Blackhawks decline:
1. Mike Hoffman is not a person we would want in our locker room.
2. Zero need for a low end LHD prospect, we have plenty.
3. 4 low end pieces don't matter, I could understand simply for future considerations more than this.

Yeah but if you're not going to put in effort to develop them then what's the point? I tried an idea based on needs with a question on value.

Pipe Dream
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojohawk</b></div><div>I going to take a stab at the whole Toronto trading Murray concept that gets thrown around here daily. If you use the Athletic value chart for what picks are worth, the Boston first is around 3.1 value, the Tampa 2nd is valued at 1.5 and the difference is 1.6 or the Florida/NYI 2nd round pick in value. Would anyone with a straight face expect the Hawks to take the 6 million Murray is owed for the 49th pick in this draft...because that is the value proposed here. This is not last Summer where the Hawks needed 2 goalies to fill out roster spots and the Mrazek move was made in conjuction with 2 other moves to get into the first round 3 times over. Hawks have rostered goalies, made 3 first round picks last year and have 2 each lined up the next 3 drafts and otherwise are in a little different place and mindset on things going forward. The Mrazek trade was pretty poor "value" in retrospect, but I think some of the valuation from the Hawks was needing a roster goalie and misjudging how bad Mrazek actually was.
Dumping Murray's deal should cost a high to mid 2nd. If you trade Bostons's 1st for the Dallas 3rd, the value is the 34th pick in the draft (one better than the Hawks 2nd). If you trade that Boston pick for the Hawk 3rd, the value is the 53rd pick or one worse than the Tampa 2nd.</div></div>
Countering your point, Buying out Mrazek costs a little under 900k this year and a little under 1.5MM next season. We won't be close to the cap ceiling, so moving up almost a round into the first where there is a much more likely chance of getting a good player to take on a goalie with a cup on his resume, for one season. The value idea is important, but the actual success rate and odds of a 28th pick hitting is higher than a late 2nd, which for our rebuild is the only concern. That trade is easy to take for the hawks, who don't have financial concerns, and is well worth it.
