Fitting in as one of the depth pieces that the Jets may need due to cap restraints.

I think he is solid 3rd pairing with the ability to step in the top 4 when needed but I like the rest of the defense. Morrissey, Pionk, and Hamonic are given while Poolman, Samberg, Niku, and Heinola battle for the 3 remainder spots.
I little generous with Roslovic contract while 6 mil is what it is going to cost for a decent 2C</div></div>
or we can just draft Cole Perfetti LMAO

Even the thought of dealing Laine is stupid. The guy scored 44 playing on the second line 2 years ago and had a better shooting percentage than Alex Ovechkin that year.

****ty trade for the Jets. You need a young star coming back if you move Laine. I wouldn't move him, it ends badly every single way it can happen.

I like this take. and even with that 4.3M in cap space along with perreault being a pending UFA, you could finally give Laine a long-term contract if he performs well

IDK, just spitballing here</div></div>
I could see them doing a deal like that, but not with Ehlers. Either a Roslovic-Vesalainen-Niku package with a 2nd-1st rounder but no way they trade Ehlers or Laine for that matter.

Well, Vesalainen will probably fit as a top 6 winger, but your top 6 is already stacked. Makes more sense to deal him to try and get a 2C

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>Jeez now that’s an interesting deal, I’ve seen a lot of talk about a Debrincat + Strome for Ehlers and Roslovic type deal. It’s super interesting to have a Keith for Little swap, imo little will be back next season but likely hits LTIR during the year due to reoccurring symptoms. So I’m not sure the 1st would be needed. Cause at that point you’re saying keith is worth a 1st, but maybe toss Vesalainen and a 3rd in over the 1st</div></div>
Whatever you do, DO NOT move Ehlers. His skating is amazing and he was having a career year before COVID. Move Roslovic + Vesalainen + picks before moving Ehlers or Laine

Like, not sure what CHI would want for strome, but he’s a viable option, I just think they should try and pull the trigger on a Vesalainen + Roslovic + 2021 1st package to get a 2C with term. Maybe tampa takes that for Cirelli. Harkins copp and Lowry becomes your 3rd line, Appleton perreault and Gustafsson your 4th line and you’re set. I hate that Chevy is so patient cause we likely won’t see him make any sort of splash :/</div></div>
I would be open to that deal. I see Vesalainen getting moved and possibly roslovic.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>I don't know, if I'm the Jets and because of Laine's contract who I would not trade unless a serious overpayment for him, I think the Jets should consider moving Ehlers or Connor for a top 4 D and legitimate 2C which isn't going to come cheap (not a back fill like Eakin). I think those two holes are bigger to fill then making 1 hole on wing. Wingers are the easiest position to fill in the league.</div></div>
I would move Connor because of his term and value. Also because he can't defend for the life of him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>I agree, they really aren't that far off. I honestly think they need a defensive championship leader like Keith, however unlikely that is.</div></div>
Well I don't see the Jets moving major pieces of the core, for the reason that the Jets have 2 budding young D prospects who will be pro ready within the next 2 seasons (Samberg and Heinola) and with the cap space that opened up, you can give Laine an extension and put a temporary filler in on defense while also finding a 2C

Realistically what the Jets will do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Laine will definitely cost around $9.5M even in a flat cap world. Winnepeg really needs to move one of their top 6 wingers for a top 4 defensive guy and 2C. That would provide better impact and what they need to really compete. I don't think the Jets are that far away from making a run.
As an example, bring home a championship caliber player like Keith with an A on his chest and add a 2nd line center like Strome, and this team would hands down be better. It's about the only place I see Keith waiving for simply to be closer to his family but unlikely the Hawks trade him or Strome for that matter despite twitter rumors.</div></div>
Jets are not far. All they need is a 2C and 2 Defensemen to compete.
