Realistic Speaking Hanifin tanev Trades
These all seem pretty optimistic on Calgary’s end. I find it hard to believe there will be a high end bidding war. He’s pretty strictly a rental for any Canadian team at this point. And most of the good American teams lack a lot of draft capital+ prospects.
I think Calgary would do well to get a Hampus Lindholm like return of a 1st and 2nd in this draft and an2nd down the road. He’s not re-signing.

:laugh Florida is a solid cup contender, they're not trading Reinhart to a team that probably doesn't even make the playoffs.

You should at least try to make a fair deal. A late 1st? A player that probably wouldn't crack the starting lineup in FLA? Start by replacing that with the MTL 1st, and then a top prospect etc.

Why would Florida convert a developing draft success and current NHL middle-6 center on a team which needs virtually nothing into two stabs in the dark and a disappointment?!?

Kane isn’t fetching that return. Full NMC at 5 mill for a middle 6 winger is the least valuable asset you can try and sell

Batherson has never gotten 70 points before and. Chychrun has never gotten 50 points before. Maybe don't count your chickens before they hatch.
Matthew Tkachuk has either similar or more value than Stutzle, ask yourself if you would trade Stutzle for that package

What's delusional is thinking the Panthers are confortably sitting 2nd in the East and are giving up a top 3 player at his position for good but lesser pieces.
Or Tkachuk waiving for a team that keeps saying their rebuild is over but is not.

I think they would want a 2nd right now (and obviously would retain half if they move him). He's having a great year and that seems to be around the going rate for secondary scorers at the deadline -- Domi, Granlund, Neiderreiter last year; Rakell, Lehkonnen before that. Would be a great fit in FLA too imo.

They can save a little but why jump through a million loopholes and risk audit when you don’t even have to think about it in FLO???

Like he mentioned above the blank figure looks bad! Bit when you calculate taxes that deal in Florida will give him more actual cash than Nylander will get with his contract. This is a very smart take though I would argue don’t sign OEL for more than 2 years.

this would actually get him more than nylander since nylnder's agent fees and escrow nominal figures would be larger

ekblad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>The_Rocket</b></div><div>i think the coaching staff disagrees with you. he plays less minutes than both forsling and montour, plays weaker competition than both forsling and montour, has worse underlying numbers than both forsling and montour, and will cost more than forsling (and maybe montour) next season.
forsling/montour is their top pair. they have traded away pending UFAs in the past to make room for other players (huberdeau and weegar) so this would be inline with that same strategy.
this way they recoup a 1st and a 4th for their 3rd most used defenseman, instead of having one of their top paring defenseman walk for free.</div></div>
Ekblad and Montour missed the first 16 games of the season. In that time Forsling was logging between 21 and 27 minutes a night for Florida. Since their returns he has clearly had the 3rd most ice time on average.
Also Forsling and Montour playing together makes a huge difference too. It means that Ekblad is always paired with their top 4's biggest liability and the guy who plays the least ice time of the 4. By default Ekblad gets less shifts for that reason alone.
I'm not saying they won't trade Ekblad but they certainly aren't going to do it for an underwhelming return that makes them a worse team in the process
