there's plenty of guys better than greene w playoff experience we don't have to pay the "premium" price for. also there's no premium on a ~39 year old trash dman

we get him for a year and a half. i think at this point it's pretty clear nyr prefers schneider to lundkvist. chytil isn't producing for us but has shown flashes of talent, he's prob the biggest loss for nyr. kravtsovs career in ny is done no matter what. that 1st will be a late round pick and we have a crowded roster and a crowded prospect pool. and a next year second big deal.

maybe u get like hunter skinner too. idk there's a lot of possibilities for lekkhonen. do teams view him as a coleman type guy? or just an above average 3rd liner. who knows.

rangers would prob only do this in the off-season after assessing their cap situation. that being said, sharks would be fools to move meier and would be getting destroyed in this trade

Any of these trades close
dont feel comfortable trading othmann before he plays at least a year in the nhl. kids producing like crazy in the chl and the rangers need that scoring bad. miller is gonna play a year and a half for the rangers maybe they look at the ecf one of those years. othmann can be an elite scorer in the nhl for years for the rangers. not worth it imo
as for schneider. he's incredibly responsible defensively and productive enough offensively to be a top 4 2 way dman. w trouba almost definitely not completing his contract in new york i think they would be crazy to move schneider for miller.
as for kravtsov and lundkvist. i understand y you'd be hesitant only getting those two guys. they're ceilings r not nearly as high as schneider and othmann. however they r both good enough to be steady nhl players and have the tools to become rlly good nhl players. however the chances of that r for sure lower than othmann and schneider.
it rlly depends how desperate van is to move him. if they can't get any other teams to part w their high end prospects the rangers will likely offer up kravtsov and lundkvist. however i think the rangers look elsewhere at the deadline if van was insisting on schneider or othmann.

Du sang neuf pour la def
i don't get how ppl cant comprehend that since the rangers wouldn't trade schneider for jack eichel, they won't trade him for an atrocious defenseman and a 3rd line winger. what's so hard to understand. i'm genuinely interested.

Playoff push
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mediumyeet</b></div><div>I have it on good authority that Mika wants to play the rest of his career for the first Swedish GM in NHL history.
In all honesty though this is probably an offseason deal because we need retention on Zib's next contract since it's a bit of an overpay given his lack of 5 on 5 production and reliance on fox and Panarin to get him PP points.</div></div>
mika and the rangers say otherwise as they just agreed to an 8 year extension!

Keep in mind that the Canucks have indicated they would prefer this retool/rebuild to be quick. I think if the Rangers are going to make this deal, they may need to throw in K'Andre Miller as the headline of their package, something I wouldn't personally be willing to do if I was the Rangers.</div></div>
lundkvist can play in the league rn. he's not great defensively but he can be pp2 and he's a very solid offensive defenseman. he moves the puck rlly well. chytil has shown me enough flashes that i'm confident he'll be a solid nhl player for a good amt of time. maybe 2 more years to develop into a consistent player. gauthier is a bit of a project, w the right coaching development he can be a solid winger. rangers don't rlly have the tools he needs rn to get him there. same w chytil.

The Avs love Giroux, I get it, but in JT, they are getting a bit of term for trading off some asset capital they would have to give up anyway for a rental that is arguably less talented than JT Miller. Also consider that the Avs are likely losing Kadri at the season's end and JT does play some center.</div></div>
i can see him going to either team. nyr i think has the better assets to muster up in a trade however, so van will try to get nyr to take him
