A) Buddy Raymond is currently a top-6 winger, not "potentially." Reinbacher hasn't even played a single AHL game, let alone NHL.
B) DDR3. I'm not a CE, tho.

I agree Raymond is every bit a top line winger as Caufield.
Now no doubt Reinbacher will be solid but he won't be better than Seider. So, in Detroit he is potentially a #2RHD.
So I'm going to agree with <a href="/users/JoeROFLCOPTER" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@JoeROFLCOPTER</a> this doesn't make sense for either team.

Potential 2425 Changes in Ranger Town
Considering the teams Trouba will waive for and the teams that can take on his cap hit, that list will be very small and that doesn't bode well for a good return.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>No, even that doesn't get it done. This isn't close. Carolina are going to want a top 6 player back for Necas. From Detroit, that's probably Cat, Raymond or Larkin. It's probably Necas + for Larkin, and I doubt Detroit wants to part with either of the other two, so there is no deal to be made here. Futures doesn't even open the conversation from a Carolina standpoint</div></div>
"Probably" Necas+ for Larkin. :tearsofjoy

Yzerman isn't doing that.
Buch would be a great addition for any team though.

Wings Shopping for a Defenseman
A, way to much to give up on a an expiring contract playr, who.is not a top defenseman. Also why does everyone dump on Maatta, he has 15 points but is a plus 18, meaning he isnplaying a solid defensive game. Is he great, no, but he is cheap and he is not a black hole defensively. What they need is a RHD, with some term to replace either Petry or play 3rd pairing minutes without giving up 2 prospects unless he can play top 4 minutes

Except he has never put up 60 points in a season let alone 65. Plus, at 31 the term left on his current contract takes away from his value, especially with his cap hit.

Also why would Detroit (who are currently chasing Toronto for the 3 seed in the Atlantic) trade a point per game forward for scraps?

Just look at his ACGM where he trades:
Perron @ 50%
Maata
2024 1st
2024 2nd
To Montreal in exchange for:
Anderson (no retention)
Savard
That should showcase everything anybody needs to know.

I can see SY being interested in Roy in free agency.
I can’t see SY interested in trading for a pending UFA at a higher cost than DeBrincat.

Trader Jim goes to work
You crack me up. Not looking at the whole scope of where Detroit is, putting your own biases and opinions above what is actually happening.
Detroit struggles on what end of the ice? Offense or defense? So now that they are scoring goals amongst the best in the league, while struggling to keep the puck out………….. they should trade their future long time 1RHD for another forward? And ruin their cap space? Doesn’t matter how good defensively he is.
Or should they keep their players, keep their manageable cap space, and enjoy all the offense before ELC contracts for Edvinsson, Wallinder, ASP, Gibson join in replacing the “Yzerman mistake signings.” Not to mention this trade doesn’t include Kasper or Danielson.
