LOL; Talbot isn't worth a 1st, even a "super late" one; Avs decline.

22 ranked goal tender in the league on a 1m contract? Better hope nothing happens to Georgiev cause you wont have a suitable back up for playoffs.

You can't possibly believe that Roy is worth anywhere near that right? There's literally no precedent trade I can think that comes close to that value. Detroit passes as hard as humanly possible...and the signs him for nothing in free agency.

I can see SY being interested in Roy in free agency.

I can’t see SY interested in trading for a pending UFA at a higher cost than DeBrincat.

Ben Chiarot got traded for a 1st a 4th and a prospect. Chychrun got traded for a 1st and two 2nds. Roy is between the two of them in value especially with an extension Kings could definitely get a 1st and 2nd for him with an extension.

Who cares about rankings? He hasn't been very good lately and isn't worth a 1st no matter how you slice it. Do you have any idea how many goalies fetch a 1st? Next to none and it takes a long time for goalies especially to adjust to new teams so at the TDL, they aren't worth major assets.

He's not anywhere near chychrun and the Chariot trade is widely considered to be one of the worst deadline trades of the last decade. Good luck with that 1st and a 2nd, lol. We'll just wait for UFA...

Funny you say that cause the last time a goalie was traded for a 1st was from AZ to COL and it was Darcy Kuemper for a 1st a 3rd and Conor Timmins and that trade actually was a big reason they won the Stanley cup. So I definitely believe COL would pay a late 1st and some scraps for a All-star goaltender at 1m.

If DET wont pay it then TOR would definitely pay it without a doubt.

Yeah and Kuemper had a whole season, was the starter and was already a genuine starter. Needless to say you're deluded if you think anyone is paying that for a back up G.

At the time Kuemper was traded he had played 27 games had a 2.56 GAA and a .907 SV%. Currently Talbot has played 36 games and has a 2.54 GAA and a .913 SV% and has either been the starter his whole career or split the season. So really your only justifiable argument here would be that at the time of the trade Kuemper was younger than Talbot is now.

No. Kuemper had a whole season with the Avs. He was traded in the July. Off season. He had the full season and the play offs with the Avalanche. He was in the position Georgiev is now - the starter. Talbot would be coming in as the back up mid season. You are wrong and you are deluded if you think anyone is paying that to bring in a back up G mid season.

I guess we will just have a wait and see. Amongst the top 25 goaltenders only 3 of them make 1m or less and could potentially be moved. The AVS having only 1.2m in cap space currently would have to take a shot at one of them unless they believe Georgiev can play 60+ regular season games and 16+ playoff games without falling off or getting hurt. Cause if that man gets hurt and they dont pick up a good back up they will get sent packing the first round without a doubt.

I agree with the assessment there in that they DO need an experienced back up but there is simply no way the Avs will be paying that price. If the Kings want to make something out of Talbot because the wheels have fallen off, and Talbot wants to waive to have a cup shot then fair enough, but that's not a reasonable expectation to have value-wise.
