Subban and Turris Moved Sign FA Forward
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>canesfan</b></div><div>The rumor is Faulk over TvR since Faulk is on an expiring contract and TvR is cheaper but still consistent</div></div>
Hmm... I don't mind Faulk, but the expiring contract would probably not fly for the trade from NSH perspective.

Subban and Turris Moved Sign FA Forward
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>Has Turris really been that bad?
Also if that is the going price for Subban, I'll take him for Kapanen 1-for-1.
Honestly this^ is likely a better deal than you asked for lol.</div></div>
Turris had a career-worst year and his contract just started. He likely isn't going to be moved after one down year, but they need cap space to make room for FA forwards. Subban is on the chopping block for cap space as well and everyone knows it, so his value drops. I agree it is a very good deal for CAR. But cap flexibility in the future to sign Josi and then Saros and other FA's is worth taking a hit. Keep in mind, they got Subban for Weber who was also on an even worse contract. So, they don't lose a ton by dealing him away.

Subban and Turris Moved Sign FA Forward
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>canesfan</b></div><div>We're trying to unload defensemen for forwards
Not good trade partners for PK</div></div>
Which D are you trying to unload? if it was other than van Riemsdyk that still let's you move them and it gives you an upgrade on D as well. I am just curious, though, because like I mentioned: I don't follow the Canes and don't know what they want to do with their roster. I just felt like it is an affordable upgrade given the cap room and doesn't take away any young forwards.

My Take
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsFan33</b></div><div>Like I stated in the description, not a fan of either team so don't really know what Sissons is worth. I'll leave it to Preds fans to decide that. The idea of the trade is to get rid of Subban's 9M/year contract and add speed and skill in your top 6.</div></div>
I gotcha. Like I said, it still fits in the budget. Sissons is actually a very serviceable player who I think any team would pay $2mil/yr for.

How does it not? PK is still REALLY good. He may not be top 10 in the league anymore, but he definitely is a top pairing defenseman.

No way Sissons is signing for 800K. He is getting at least 2Mil from the Preds. But, that still fits in the budget according to this roster.

Nashville and Toronto Shakeup
I don't think anyone is giving up a 3rd for Grimaldi. I also don't think there is any way possible that Poile trades Ellis after forcing him to sign a deal with a NTC. No FA would ever sign with the Preds without one if they think there will be a chance of being traded in the first year of their new deal.

Palat is too expensive and also has a NTC. I actually have thought about the PK for Voracek deal myself. Not sure if PHI would bite on that. As noted above, Sissons and Grimaldi should be signed as well. Remove the Palat and Jarnkrok trades and Re-sign Sissons and Grimaldi. Plus, the league cap is going up to 83 mil next year, so if you do all of that, you'd have roughly 4 mil to work with. However, if you can trade PK for someone cheaper somewhere else, you may be able to squeeze enough difference to afford Duchene in FA. Especially if you buyout Turris or trade him for more cap space.

NSH Changes
McLeod is not getting signed. Especially not for anything above the league minimum. No one will give up draft capital for Hamhuis. You can find that in FA for league minimum. EDM is way too high on Puljujarvi to give him AND a second for Turris. Poile will not trade Ryan Ellis after almost not resigning him based off of Ellis demanding a NTC. No future FA would sign with the Preds without one if he did. And the Vegas trade is an interesting one. I am not sure of Pacioretty's M-NTC and if the Preds are on his list of teams he'd accept. Plus, you are giving up almost 50 Goals for a 30 goal scorer and a defensive defenseman that doesn't really fit Lavi's scheme.

NSH and VGK - Assume 82M cap
I am not sure how this really helps the Preds. They add a scoring winger, sure. But, why give up two NHL Regulars for just draft picks? That just makes them worse for random picks in the future?

Subban and Turris Dealt With
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>I personally think Hertl is more valuable than Subban at this point.
People seem to forget that Subban is turning 30 this year. He's not a spring chicken anymore (In hockey sense that is). Couple that with a very down year overall, a 9M price tag......Why would anyone overpay or pay full value at this point?
Hertl is 25, signed to a very reasonable contract and putting up big numbers this year in the regular season and playoffs. If SJ loses out on Karlsson, there are plenty of other lesser but still good options available.</div></div>
Subban dealt with some injuries this year, but finished the last month of the season out in top form and was their best defensemen in the playoffs. I think his value dipped early on, but definitely went back up with their way he finished.

Subban and Turris Dealt With
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>For sj to take 9 million cap hit of subban, probably closer to straight up</div></div>
I considered that as the most likely scenario. However, this was a best case scenario that is also realistic. Plus, SJ Loves scoring D and to have Burns and Subban on the back end with their skill and personality, it seems like a really good fit. I Could see throwing in a 3rd from Nashville to balance it out more.
