Nashville would decline. A very late first and a wing prospect we don't need isn't enough to move Saros when he's still our starter. Askarov may look promising and should probably look to get starts in 2024-25, but Saros is still the starter and the team is trying to be competitive. It would have to be a better prospect or a higher pick to entice Nashville to move Saros.

I'm really 50/50 on whether Pit would want that one quality of ick or try to restock the cupboard and take a bunch of assets for it.
If they want to sell it off this offer would definitely be inconsideration

Keep Lizotte, Boston has no use, need, or space for him. They take the 1st alone. The question is will Ullmark accept.

Trade down from 3 OA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ross_Johnston</b></div><div>Man I ain't gonna lie. This is a very interesting proposal. Well done. This is what this site is about!!! Very interesting.
Edit: this was not supposed to be a quote. But the same works here. Interesting stuff from the OP and from you haha</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Big_Papa20</b></div><div>Fair deal as a Habs fan. I’d say Lindstrom is their guy given their obsession with size</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Well done! Like all 3 of the UFA targets. Don't see Kyle going after two top 6 forwards, but I like the idea! I'm also a fan of the trade too. If the Hawks end up w/ the 3rd pick overall, I'm all for swapping it for the '24 Habs 1st and another '25 1st. I'd be gun shy to take Demidov at #3. And all the other top guys in this class after Celebrini, Leshevnov and Demidov are about equal so trading down 4 or 5 spots is fine.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LivingAnew</b></div><div>Hmmm... This is an interesting idea. My first reaction as a Hawks fan is that no way we pass on Lindstrom if he's there at #3 OA. Then I re-read a review of Catton's prospect profile and WOW... he'd be a terrific winger with Bedard.
At some point, I think the Hawks have to seek elite talent WITH SIZE. Which is why I surmise they'd still prefer Lindstrom at #3 (if he's there).
Gonna be interesting to see what happens on the draft board this year, once Celebrini is gone.</div></div>
Seems like both sides seem pretty intrigued by this idea so I will call that a win

Sabres are not doing this. With UPL playing great, they are in no rush to get starting goalie. Regardless of what happens in next 20 games, UPL is starter for next season.

Modest but Better
Given the lack of depth in Pittsburgh's prospect pool, the Penguins might be effectively forced into taking that offer, but <a href="/users/jfkst1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@jfkst1</a>'s point is well taken: Pitt might want an actual NHL player at the top of that offer. Maybe replace Barron with one of your surplus existing NHL lefties?
Dallas has Heiskanen and Harley on the left plus one more season of both Lindell and Suter. I don't think that the Stars will invest those kind of assets in two seasons of Matheson. Bourque in particular seems like too much.
I don't see Dvorak getting a second in the off-season. That's the return from an injury-stricken team desperate for help at the trade deadline.

Extending the Window
Don’t see the Bruins having a reason to trade Swayman at this point. They likely extend him and trade Ullmark to the highest bidder where he can be extended.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ross_Johnston</b></div><div>I agree, but I moved him because I don't see a spot for him on the team. Missing out on a mid round pick isn't a deal breaker for a team that has stockpiled picks since I was in grade 11 (I am 22)</div></div>
my thinking has shifted a bit opvet the years. as an old fart i know that injuries are not only part of the game, they are a huge massive part of it. they will happen, and you need almost a dozen dmen and plenty of spare warm body 'plugs' and role players to win.
plus real life is walways there to derail the common nhl career.
kent has the right idea here. steady as she goes. dont rush. acqquire ready assets to have more security

I think that is more than fair value, I just don't think Dubas is trading the pick given he can get those assets at the TDL by selling this year and he can't get another top 10 pick for two more years.

That players not in this draft. Celebrini will be the only one making an NHL roster next year and everyone else is likely 2-3 years away. Some very good players but not any immediate impact players

its just that Crosby trains with Barron in the off season, and a RD, but there would be less picks but if Crosby has a say I'd guess he'd want Barron over a LD, pickering already has that top 4 LD spot.

Would be cool with getting Toffoli. We have 5.8 mil in cap today so with a little retention we can keep fast Fast, sit Martinook and run that lineup with Noesen-Staal-Fast as the 4th line.

The guy has a hard on for hating Savard. Savard would immediately become VAN 2RD and it's blatantly obvious.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ross_Johnston</b></div><div>Why?</div></div>
he has another year left, and the return isn't good enough that you can't say no to it, I think that if he's traded this year it's for what most fans would consider way more than he's worth, and that package isn't quite that imo. He's more important to Montreal right now than a lot of people give him credit for, he's not the best defenseman in the league, not even the best on the team, but his experience and the stability he brings is underrated, especially for helping teach the younger defensemen. Xhekaj has been really good since coming back up from Laval and part of that is because he's been playing with Savard a lot, Savard is a leader on this team, and a great mentor for the young guys, that's hard to replace, especially mid-season.
