<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>Botterill is the assistant GM. I wouldn’t be surprised if Buffalo threw an extra draft pick to Seattle to ensure they took Miller. That’s what everyone expects to happen. Miller would be gone anyway after this season, so Buffalo wouldn’t see him as much of a loss. Apslund or Thompson on the other hand would be a loss, and there’s no good reason why are the extra third round pick they picked up the trade deadline would be worth more to the Sabres than either of the players Seattle would otherwise take.</div></div>
Well hopefully GMKA is wise to do it, however, his track history hasn't been sparkling, so we'll see.

All of those trades and moves are ridiculous! Especially the Tampa one. Glad you aren't trying to be a GM in the NHL.

Buffalo would need to work a trade with Seattle for them to take Miller. Its not going to happen. Botterill is the AGM for Kraken and he knows are farm system well. Either Asplund or Thompson are going to be unprotected and one of those will be picked. I haven't seen anything from GMKA to suggest he is savvy to make a trade with Seattle.

If we needed to take one, Niederreiter would be the one I take. I think it is more than enough, were not trading Gretzky here. Jarvis is a stud, 2022 1st with 2022 being one of the strongest draft classes in 15 years and the additional player and pick help the Sabres build for the future.

I dont overvalue talent. Reinhart actually has us in a hard place as he is in the last years of his RFA status. If he is unwilling to sign a long term deal with the team we trade him to, his value depreciates. 2 seconds and a good 3rd line center is plenty.

Watch Eichel get traded for this
If the rumors are true that Zegras and Drysdale are untouchable. Sabres will demand 2021 and 2022 1st Rd picks in the deal. That is the only compensation that would make up for not getting 1 of those 2.

Its a fixable injury. A slipped disc isn't career ending, especially in the location its in. These teams have done and are doing their due dilligence on it.

Some may, I won't be. Minnesota, Columbus and Philly can easily put together better offers for him. There are 8-10 team that are legit in on Eichel. Teams are getting a 25 yr old, Top 10 C, under contract for 5 more years and can produce 85-100 pts when healthy. The guy is going to net a substantial return.

I agree no one is untouchable. Wayne freakin Gretzky wasn't untouchable. Eichel when healthy is a 90-100 pt per year player. Top 5 C when healthy.

The Wild surprisingly have 22 million in cap space for the offseason. If they have salary going back to Buffalo like Dumba or Greenway, they could afford Eichel
I agree with Vegas but they could trade one of their goalies to clear cap space for a center. Reinhart is a better fit for Vegas
Anaheim is making a hard push for Eichel. They might be willing to give up Comtois, some other mid tier prospects, + 3rd overall pick for Eichel
Calgary fans were willing to trade Tkachuk + pick for Eichel
I think Sabres will get a bit disappointed with the return, but they still get a solid return for both Reinhart and Eichel</div></div>
Everyone needs to remember a healthy Jack Eichel on a good team is a 100 pt per year player. Teams will need to pay a price for him. These trades of a prospect, pick and roster player for him will not be enough. Its multiple picks, multiple prospects and a roster player to get it done.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Theo_nollaf</b></div><div>I really don't understand why the Ducks and the Jackets are in on Eichel. Those are two teams that would be giving up so much to get Eichel that they would be as terrible as Buffalo when he plays there and Eichel wants to be on a contender imo. Also to say that Drysdale and Zegras are off the table for Eichel is wrong, they need to give one of them up (Prob Zegras) to get Eichel or else it's probably Comtois + plus lots of picks and lots of prospects which would be worse for Anaheim.</div></div>
You're right about the Ducks. But the Bluejackets would still have a solid team around Jack. They have 3 first round picks, giving up 2 of those and Merzilikins plus a prospect gets the deal done.

From an article talking about Ducks trade options this off-season (specifically mentions Eichel)
Like it or not Sabres arent getting either of them</div></div>
There are most likely 8-10 legit contenders for Eichel. If the Ducks wont give up either, then GMKA wont do a trade with them. There are not a lack of options for the Sabres here. Columbus, LA, Minnesota and Philly can put together better offers. The only way this Ducks/Sabres speculation is heatinf up is that the Ducks are willing to move either Drysdale or Zegras, or they are willing to send 3 or 4 1st/2nd Rd picks.

No way Sabres send Eichel to Ducks without getting Zegras or Dysdale back in the deal. Comtois is a nice piece, a player I'd love on the Sabres, but he is not a center piece for Eichel type player.
In the Reinhart deal, Texier would need to be the piece I am getting, not the Russian.

A prospect who has not worked out, a late 1st round pick and Broberg, who may be a Top 4 defenseman for Eichel. Yeah, no thanks. Yamamoto, Broberg, 2021 and 2022 1st's is more likely what Buffalo would take. We'd take Neal too to make the cap stuff work.

Also teams very very rarely trade top prospects, so quit lying to yourself. A first and a second? Sure, but not two firsts. Monahan has had a far better career than Reinhart, is just a year older and no one is giving up a top 15 pick and a 2019 or 2020 first rounder for him either.</div></div>
I disagree with your assement completely. Especially on a Flames team desperate to win a cup or blowing it up and starting over.
