Which cap contract do you want from Carolina to make that deal work?

Definitely not enough from the Canes though

I’d take a run at Miller for 6th.

That’s why we would all rather see him go to Seattle instead of losing Apslund for nothing.

I dont overvalue talent. Reinhart actually has us in a hard place as he is in the last years of his RFA status. If he is unwilling to sign a long term deal with the team we trade him to, his value depreciates. 2 seconds and a good 3rd line center is plenty.

If we needed to take one, Niederreiter would be the one I take. I think it is more than enough, were not trading Gretzky here. Jarvis is a stud, 2022 1st with 2022 being one of the strongest draft classes in 15 years and the additional player and pick help the Sabres build for the future.

He's a serviceable defenseman.

Buffalo would need to work a trade with Seattle for them to take Miller. Its not going to happen. Botterill is the AGM for Kraken and he knows are farm system well. Either Asplund or Thompson are going to be unprotected and one of those will be picked. I haven't seen anything from GMKA to suggest he is savvy to make a trade with Seattle.

Hahaha, he just traded Duncan Keith for nothing. If Chicago wouldn't want Reinhart for that price, they would be fools....oh wait....

Botterill is the assistant GM. I wouldn’t be surprised if Buffalo threw an extra draft pick to Seattle to ensure they took Miller. That’s what everyone expects to happen. Miller would be gone anyway after this season, so Buffalo wouldn’t see him as much of a loss. Apslund or Thompson on the other hand would be a loss, and there’s no good reason why are the extra third round pick they picked up the trade deadline would be worth more to the Sabres than either of the players Seattle would otherwise take.

Well hopefully GMKA is wise to do it, however, his track history hasn't been sparkling, so we'll see.

It’s not even close to enough. First of all Chicago pick is mid second round and Vegas is a late 2nd. Strome is yes a third line center and we have about 8 of those. We don’t need another one. Reinhart was tied for 11th in goal scoring in the league this year. You don’t just give guys like that away for mid to late 2nd round picks and a third line center who didn’t play well last year.

You are failing to realize that Sam is a final year RFA, if they team he is going to cannot resign him or get him to committee some kind of deal longer than this year, the value of Reinhart drops greatly. If the Sabres can work a sign and trade, then of course you can ask for and get more. However, sign and trades dont happen often and the Sabres will need to get what they can get. Sam Reinhart on at least 20 teams is at best a 2md line center or wing, on 5 or 6 teams may be a 3rd line wing or center. He's been on a Top line player in Buffalo because we've sucked for his 6 years. The guy averages 55 pts a year, he's not McDavid.

I never said he was mcdavid. I said he is worth more than the crap you were offering. He is worth a bunch mor than 2 mid to late round 2nd’s and strome(a third line center
