Just simple nothing crazy
9-11 For Chuky if its longer term. And Rittich did not perform like Biddington, and has been fairly inconsistent, although got us through good enough. If in fact those two were going to have to get the high end of the numbers you suggest, then Rittich doesn't play for us unless Frolik and Brodie and/or Stone are traded away.

I know most people think +/- doesn't say much and they are probably right but when the 2nd worst -34 and the 3rd worst is -29 it is pretty amusing.

Frenzy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RahefIssaLeafsHockey</b></div><div>Can we just stop pretending that Mitch Marner deserves to make similar money compared to Auston Matthews? This is getting beyond ridiculous. Ever since entering the league, no player has scored more even strength goals than Matthews, Marner is absolutely not in the same category in terms of individual ability. In fact, even William Nylander is a better individual player than Mitch Marner. So far in their careers, Nylander’s Corsi for is 54% whereas Marner’s is only 40%. In fact, each star forward on the Leafs found more success playing with Nylander than with Marner. Kadri has a .86 G/60 playing with Nylander and .85 playing with Marner. Van Riemsdyk has a 1.33 G/60 playing with Nylander and 1.18 with Marner. Tavares has a 6.27 G/60 playing with Nylander and 1.53 with Marner. Matthews has a 1.53 G/60 with Nylander and a 1.04 with Marner. This suggests that Marner doesn’t have a lot of individual talent plus his all round game is lacking. He has been riding on success playing with elite centres such as Nazem Kadri and John Tavares. On his own he is average at best. Everyone has been talking about how he should be getting paid 9-10 million a season, but he’s actually nowhere close to that level. In reality, Mitch Marner’s closest comparable is Conor Sheary, another average winger who has benefited from playing with elite centres. Anything offer sheet over 5 million dollars the Leafs should not bother matching. Just look at his advanced stats and possession metrics! Awful.</div></div>
I’m not at all a Leafs fan but I must say your assessment of Marner is a steaming pile.

Use the Bridges
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Bridge is good theory for management, but if those players prefer long term security, an offer sheet beckons. I wouldn't short change Carlo and McAvoy just to sign Johnasson and Pavelski. Maybe you sign one of those UFAs.</div></div>
Well McAvoy can’t sign an offer sheet and I think Carlo wants to be here long term so you could sell it to him but I get your point.

What Boston Should Do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TCMonkey</b></div><div>Ya, that McAvoy deal is a little off. That's what Erik Karlsson got after his ELC but Karlsson was coming off a 19 goal / 78 point season. McAvoy is 12 goals and 50 points shy of that. Offer him a bridge deal and go from there.</div></div>
What? This McAvoy deal is lower in percentage than the deals Leddy and Bogosian signed at the time, he's making nothing here. If he's signing for 8 he's getting at least 1m more, and I as a Bruins fan is ok with that
