Getting the Most Out of Lucic - Option 1

Description

Now that the team has Milan Lucic, the question is, how do we get the most out of him?

If you look at his underlying defensive numbers, he actually isn't as bad defensively as everyone thinks. So, one option would be simply to put him on a line with Backlund and Lindholm, and make that our shutdown line. The line probably doesn't have as much offensive potential as we would like, but it wouldn't give up much either.

In order to compensate for the lack of offense, in this example I went out and got Tyler Johnson.

I’d like to get Johnson, NTC may make it tough though. That being said, Peters coached him, Calgary is one of the closer NHL cities to his home in Spokane and he also played with Ryan in Spokane so it’s possible
