Big yes for me, lets us flip brassard to somewhere else for another pick

Thought about it, but a pair of JBD and Brannstrom is a little too young and small for me, probably would work fine against smaller/fast teams. You're right tho, best thing about Jensen is he could slot in anywhere on the right side depending on who's playing well or injured, top 2 pairs will probably play pretty similar minutes.

My Deadline Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>athrin</b></div><div>ott does not want weegar, too old, too much money to long a contract and overated</div></div>
Ottawa certainly does want weegar, they were in talks with Florida all off season. Also, just because he's on a long contract doesn't mean he has to spend it all with the Sens, the cap will go up and he'll be easier to dump when his contract isn't worth it. We gotta start trading futures away for success now and weegar is currently an improvement on all our RD (including zub although maybe not by a ton)

Deadline Moves - Talbot to LA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>Yeah we'd be lucky if the Kings accept that trade
I like Brannstrom but Roy is much more of a need and fully developed, he's worth comfortably more
Quick is UFA so no incidence and Talbot is not worth much more than a 3rd (lol Dorion traded Gustavsson for him)</div></div>
I was thinking we'd take Quick to get the 5.8 mill off their books so they can make other acquisitions, they'd essentially be paying us to take him which is the only way we'd get the 3rd + roy, I defintely wouldn't want to resign him unless it was something like 2M or under

That's fair, Dorion has been at a ton of LA games recently though, maybe sean walker + a 4th or 5th round pick for Talbot makes more sense

Deadline Moves - Talbot to LA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>Take out Roy, Quick and Brannstrom and that might be a deal LA would consider. Although, LeBrun says that LA isn't interested in goalie rentals at all.
"You know, it’s possible [that the Kings make a trade for a goaltender at the deadline], but what the Kings are talking about internally is probably having better options come the off-season. It’s crazy, they are riding Phoenix Copley who is 15-3 since being called in but the only goalie signed in the entire organization beyond this season is Cal Petersen who has been demoted. Jonathan Quick is up, he is 37 years old, they have to attend [to] the goaltending position, but I’ve been told they are not that interested in pending UFAs like Cam Talbot or Antti Raanta. They are looking for a long-term fit."

I'm sure talbot would be open to an extension with LA at a good AAV, the whole trade is for Roy. We don't want or need quick and neither do you, you're gonna need to pay to get him off your books so you can acquire more firepower for a playoff push

Sens cap after signing the cat
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bagelbob</b></div><div>it’s very unlikely but if i were debrincat i’d consider taking the 9mil QO and then try to get a big deal when the cap actually goes up the offseason before 24-25 as opposed to taking this deal. i think he has way more to gain doing that since he can most likely (barring career-ending injury) still get at least this the following season if he waits. the injury risk means he probably won’t but if i were him i’d think about it.</div></div>
My only argument is Cat did struggle to find his footing to start the season on a new team, so maybe he'd be open to a bridge deal with the Sens who he's familiar with in order to build a case for a higher AAV next time around. Also based this evaluation mainly on what Frank Seravalli said lately on the coming in hot podcast, but maybe it'd be more likely as a 2-3 year deal.

Sens cap after signing the cat
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens65</b></div><div>Why are you paying a fourth liner $2 million?</div></div>
I'd say rn Motte is our best defensive forward, great on the pk and very flexible to move around the lineup. Probably could get him for less, but I don't want to lose him like we did Nick Paul and Connor Brown, gotta pay somebody eventually. I could see him continue to play up on the 3rd line depending on the matchup and how aggressive DJ wants to be.

Nice to dream, I'm guessing one of the lower standings teams will scoop him up. Doubt the Sens will even get a shot.

Brassard in and depth trade
It doesn't matter that he can clear waivers though, they have 50/50 contracts even with him in the minors. Dubas has put them in a corner and they need another spot for a goalie, otherwise I agree they wouldn't take this deal.
