Karlsson to Dallas and Deadline Deals
Hardest pass ever for Dallas. I wouldn’t even do karlsson for klingburg straight up. While karlsson may be the greatest d of this generation... he has 1 season left and is due for a MAJOR pay raise, and isn’t even a guarantee to resign in Dallas. Klingberg is having a Norris caliber season and is at an incredible 4.25 mill for another 4 seasons. Obviously karlsson is way better but the financials make this a HARD pass

REBUILD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Kyrou was a 2nd round pick, that's reasonable expectations for Maroon, especially if the Oilers add another, lesser piece / retain / take back a bad contract. I clearly stated "a deadline deal involving Patrick Maroon" - I didn't outline exactly how that deal went down. It's more than a little facetious that you give me one star based on *one* of the trades - which you failed to comprehend anyhow.</div></div>
I'm with <a href="/users/ShafferPens" target="_blank">@ShafferPens</a> here. Kyrou is 2 seasons beyond his draft year, the points-per-game leader in the OHL at 1.97 ppg; he led his gold medal U20 team in scoring, and he's listed near the top in a few prospect rankings. I think it's time to stop referring to him as simply a 2nd round pick and call him a legit top prospect. The draft is just a snapshot in time, he has improved immensely since then (not to mention he was picked at #35, just a few spots out of being a first rounder.)
Regardless of the other parts involved, I doubt Kyrou goes in a Maroon trade. The Blues don't have any terrible contracts that need to be moved out... the only way I see Kyrou getting moved is for a much bigger piece than Patty Maroon. Realistically, what do you think a Maroon-Kyrou swap could look like?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ShafferPens</b></div><div>And why are the Sharks the ones acquiring Lundqvist :laugh</div></div>
I'm not saying the Sharks should acquire. I don't know why any team would want him THAT much. RangersandIsles fan said the Rangers would be stupid to trade him. I'm suggesting that the Rangers should trade especially if meant not taking any bad money back in a trade. Surely Gorton could spend 8.5m better.

"There is no way the Rangers will or should trade Lundqvist," Why do say that? Shirley, the Rangers could spend 8.5m better than on one Lundqvist.

I would absolutely see overpaying for Kane if I were LV or LA and just renting him for the balance of the year. But I wouldn't do it with the expectation that he'd be signing.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Truebeliever</b></div><div>Way too much for Kane, I'd say, unless the Pens are set on signing him to a long contract.
Speaking for the Habs, Pleks should get a #2 and a sweetener. Don't really know Rowney as a player, but clearly not a game-changer. But Bergevin would certainly have to consider it.</div></div>
It’s not really cause buffalo is also taking a cap dump off our hands and retaining 50% of Kane’s salary. With Hags off the books for next year, depending on how much horny re-signs for, and Sprong & Jarry re-sign for, there is a good possibility that we could re-sign Kane next year.

But they are gonna want to make sure that he proves he can play every day in the AHL first. He may get called up half way through the season, but right now Corrado is our best RHD prospect. I mean we both know this trade ain’t happening so I wouldn’t doubt that someone like Pedan and Ruhwedel are the extra D next year. Or Ruhwedel and Corrado.

Sid Gets His Old Pal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>Hunwicks contract isn’t bad. He makes what a bottom pair guy should max. Johnson is the one on a bad contract. And I never said he had to score a ton of points, you just misread what I wrote. I’m comparing his scoring with the player you are getting rid of for him. The scoring is the same, the defense is the same, one has almost a 4.5 million contract and the one we have is half that.
Oh and not to mention, the whole reason he wants out of Columbus is because he doesn’t want to play bottom pair. He wants a chance at top 4. So why trade for him just to put him on bottom pair?</div></div>
Should have clarified. The money Hunwick makes isn’t bad, just the term is. If they had signed him to a 1 year deal, then no complaints here, but I would much rather pay a guy 4 mil for a couple months than a guy 2.25 mil for another 2 1/2 years and you would be foolish to disagree. Pens clear up 4 mil after this deal. U said yourself that the pens are cap strapped. Freeing up 4 mil certainly would help that...would it not?

Trade with CBJ and Det what do u think palhal
So Soshnikov+Carrick+Leivo for Zetterberg and Detrot retains $2.5 million for 3 more years+2018 2nd round pick for Glendening. Zetterberg is still close to a 60-70 point centerman your offer isn't even close especially getting Zetterberg at around $3.6 million for another 3 years and Z made it abundantly clear that he's retiring in 2019 so Detroit isn't retaining a dime on him We're not dealing Zetterberg to a divisional rival for what you're offering period he's retiring a Wing.
