Yeah. Henrique is having a very solid season and with the limited availability of quality centers, my guess is we'll see some good returns for him and Monahan. I hate saying Monahan because it just fuels the fire for Habs fans haha, but I don't think a 1st can be ruled out for either of them.

I feel like Rico for a 2 (no salary retained) is like the easiest value equal trade ever, I would *like* more than a 4th to retain, but w/e. Novak is a good, underrated shout, I haven't seen a ton of speculation around him.

Chytil Officially Done
Damn. That's never nice to hear.
Hope he can make a recovery, but he'll obviously need time.
I could see Monahan requesting a trade to NY and I'd be okay with that even if there are better offers. I think he'd fit in well.

NYR seems better with Chytil at 3C than it does giving up a 1st and more for a guy as unpredictable as Monahan.

Double Retention
I think we'd have to add a bit more on Tarasenko. They're probably gonna get better deals. I'd rather keep Robertson if at all possible. Might need to give OTT the 1st and MTL the 2nd and another prospect
Very minor details, but I think MTL has a plethora of D prospects that they'd decline this trade. I'd give them a similar value forward prospect instead.
I think Bonino easily gets claimed if sent down, and I think he's gonna be paramount in the playoffs. At the very least I'd have him on the roster over Brodz. We should have accrued enough cap space by now to make the team cap compliant with Bones over Brodz at the TDL

With Chytil Returning
First off, Monahan is a center, pretty good one too being one of the better faceoff guys in the league. If you were going to trade for him he should be the 3C with Chytil moving to LW.
A couple of months ago, Id be on the Monahan train, however I no longer have any interest in him. Hes been more or less a PP specialist for most of the year and a complete defensive liability.
If Im trading a 1st, Im going for Novak from Nashville.

DET says yes because sprong will want cap and term after this season and the wings can get someone cheaper that can fill his role. I get you want the depth scoring but this team has no issue with it and needs defensive help and you can swap the picks for that

The 4th is likely to beat out anyone else. Really it should just be the 2nd.

In my mind it would. Given how good Nyquist has been this year, I may ask for another pick like 4th or 5th round, but that would be good for me.

He's still a great 4th liner, but seems to carry some off ice baggage. If a team would be willing to take the risk it's not bad at league min

Load Up On Center Depth
Chytil was posted on Instagram today by his trainer and he's working out and on his way to coming back. Plus it came out the other day that he'll be back in the states before the end of the month. I don't think the situation is as dire as Larry Brooks and Co are making it out to be. I think they're just (rightfully) acting in an abundance of caution.

He’s worth a 3rd. Retention doesn’t it make a top prospect and a 1st. Not a worthwhile maneuver.

Taking a Risk
The thing about trading Chytil is that it cuts the Youth Core into nothing, and sends us right back into rebuild mode in 5 years. If the Rangers trade a winger like Kakko, it's not the end of the world because we have people in the cupboard to replace him like Perrault, Othmann, Sykora. But the Rangers don't really have a high-end centre prospect to replace Chytil. Unless they were to draft one this year of course.

Nashville GM isn't taking the risk on Chytil until he comes back from his latest concussion and shows he is healthy. At this point, if the Nashville GTM was willing to take the risk, the Rangers should do it.

As a NSH fan, I'd even add a 3rd to that deal for Chytil. Maybe others disagree as SIssons is arguably one of the best defensive forwards in the league.

I'm more on the let's bring I'm guys we can potentially resign, than spending assets to keep someone for few months.
