Can I be first? This has got to be one of the most braindead proposals I have seen in a long time. The inverse would be if the habs got knies and a 1st for david savard

Cool trade idea but I don’t think the habs are willing to give picks and rohrer. The trade would have been fine just with Edmundson.

COL - MTL
The Avs won't trade Foudy or Behrens for those guys, and certainly not both. It also puts them over the cap once Landeskog returns.
Realistically, imo of course, Colorado kicks the tires on Monahan (if he gets healthy) but only pulls the trigger if it's cheap and carries conditions such as points and games played. I know he had a nice start to the year, but there is a lot of risk there.

Patrick Kane to Rangers Huge 3-way trade with Montreal
Montreal passes, we have no reason to move Dadonov and the Habs like how Kidney is working out so far. Also the Habs have no need for Hajek or Blais

Who adds
The thought process here is that Montreal have a surplus in LD prospects, and with Levi coming through, Portillo is essentially rendered obsolete. While Buffalo may very well use Portillo in a more blockbuster deal, which is fair, I could see a minor swap like this where they get another young offensive defenceman who is close to NHL ready to join the already young D core and Drouin could be a good, cheap playoff rental who compliments Buffalo's goal heavy strategy that they could fairly easily resign next year as a redemption project. I could also see Buffalo going for Edmundon as he still has term and he's a good veteran with a big body and leadership is perfect for a young team finally in the playoffs.

Seattle picking up experience for playoff run
Sure Seattle could use a center but even with 50% retain that to much valued give and are over the cap.
Probably need to remove one of the prospect or the second round and take back one of player between Donato or Soucy to be cap compliant. Also for Soucy value mtl should probably give another fourth round or trade is 4 for a 3 instead.

Wild in need of a C
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EatMyScoobySnack</b></div><div>I think Kent Hughes would try to get a first round for him so the value could be Öhgren but to made more sens I would retain 50% of Monahan.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SkinnyNovy</b></div><div>Totally agree with you. I forgot to put the 50% off !</div></div>
1) It's been stated numerous times. By Wild fans to Habs fans and everyone in between.
Guerin DOES NOT want Monahan. Micheal Russo has reported it many times, either through his articles or podcasts/radio interviews, that he doesn't want or have interest in that player.
Moreover, Guerin did not want him when he could of been PAID a 1st to take him.
2) A prospect with 1st round value and a 2nd is an overpay for Monahan and a 6th.
Monahan doesn't carry that much value. Retained or not.
Wild say no.

What would be the trade for each at deadline
Here's my thoughts:
Petry - This has to be an offseason move. He'll have more value at that point esp if he picks up his game. Once the top UFA's go, teams will be reassessing and there will be more interest.
Chiarot - he'll probably get a first with 50% retention or a second with a decent prospect
Lehkonen - as much as a first, but probably a second. I think the habs are best suited to package Chiarot and Lehkonen together for maximum return
Kulak - 3rd, maybe a second
Wideman - 4th
Paquette, Perreault, Clague, Niku - they'll either be toss in pieces, late picks or straight up for similar prospects

Caufield wont sign long term
This trade is actually pretty sweet but it makes zero sense for MTL at this stage. That 1st round pick has the highest chance of being Shane Wright. Montreal needs to be trading away their aging vets not swapping kids and picks for them. Clearly Bo isn’t an aging vet but u get the point.

Rangers wouldn't do Schneider straight up for Chiarot, even at 50% retention.

Habs list of players available, make an offer, ANY OFFER!!!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SkinnyNovy</b></div><div><strong><em>Pacioretty is definitely your biggest trade bait. In return I would at least want one top quality prospect. I would consider a call from St-Louis if they're offering Kyrou , Thomas or Kostin.
Next up , if Nashville call , I want Tolvanen to be in the deal and finally if the Rangers call L.Andersson as to be in the deal.</em></strong></div></div>
So... would Pacioretty (2.25M$ retained) for Kyrou & Thomas be a realistic deal with STL?
So... would Pacioretty (2.25M$ retained) for Andersson & Chytil be a realistic deal with NYR?
Tolvanen: he's a good player, but a winger. Habs need C's. And, unless the Habs win the draft lottery, they are likely drafting another winger in the upcoming draft.
