I’m quitting if it’s Arizona.
IMO MTL CHI and OTT would be nice. If he ends up with SJ ANA CBJ ARI then..
But hey there’s still Demidov! ( Michkov of this draft )

Who says no
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlickWilly</b></div><div>Right, I'll agree with that. I've got all the time in the world for anyone who wants to argue Faber for the Calder without using "+ / -". Love him. Sensational defenseman. Absolute stud. Future norris winner. But Bedard came into the league kind of as a one dimensional king who had this insane shot, but the rest of his game was unproven. His playmaking has been miles ahead of where we thought it would be, especially with this supporting cast, and, while not the greatest situationally on defense, he is creating opportunities in the neutral zone and offensive zone with his stick checking, something i never thought I would see from him this year. So while both are playing beyond expectations, what Bedard at 18 offers is something that very few other individual pieces alone in the NHL can offer.</div></div>
Overall…it’s a really solid rookie class. A good 8-10 stars added to the league this year.

What Are Your Thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlickWilly</b></div><div>Connor Murphy provides no value to us beyond his current deal and is very much on the decline. If we can get another first rounder in 2024 for him, I will drive him to the airport myself.</div></div>
And his current deal lasts for the most formative years of this rebuild. I think his work ethic, leadership, and knowledge make him invaluable to our young roster. I also firmly believe that he would be much better on a better team. The numbers lie, for obvious reasons, CHI is very bad right now. You put him in games that actually matter on a roster where the individual players know what they are doing and can pull their own weight in a highly competitive environment, and he is going to shine, defensively (maybe even offensively, too). We literally have no reason to move him for less. It's less about "what he is worth on the open market" and more about "what he is worth to CHI. Also, we shouldn't be shooting ourselves in the foot and contribute to a negative perception and devaluation of Murphy. Don't let the schlubs that don't actually watch him or know anything about him convince us what he is and what he isn't.
That all being said, I am not going to throw a fit if KD moves him for a package like this. A late 1st, if used properly, helps the rebuild, and we aren't going to need the cap space that retention uses. I would prefer a better player and prospect, but I understand if this is what a Murphy deal looks like.

Which year would you want incredible luck on your side
Habs can win 2 times, not sure why you think they can only win once but the rule states that you can only advance your position in the draft by way of a lottery win twice in a 5 years span. Montreal finished last in 2022 and won the lottery but did not <strong>advance</strong> our position, so that doesn't count against us.

Draft question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Hawks probably go 1. Celibrini, 2. Lindstrom, 3. Levshunov. Don't see the Hawks using a top 3 or 4 pick on Eiserman or Demidov.</div></div>
Demidov is a stud! Best talent outside of Celebrini in the draft. I don't think they consider Levshunov in the top 4, they have way too much need for top 6 prospects with questions around Reichel and Lindstrom, Demidov, Eiserman at their age all would be ranked ahead of Reichel, Moore and Nazar if drafted in the same year.
Levshunov is very good as well, but Hawks are in desperate need to find Bedard linemates for the long term.

Draft question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlickWilly</b></div><div>From what I've seen, Hawks fans are pretty split on Levshunov vs another forward. Based off of things other people have posted, I would say rankings are this ish:
1. Celebrini
2/3 Levshunov/Lindstrom
4 Demidov
5. If we're drafting here = upset</div></div>
I would say this...
1 Celebrini
2/3/4 Demidov/Eisermann/Lindstrom (in that order)
5 Levshunov
Hawks are desperate for top 6 talent and more so with questions around Reichel. If Reichel wasn't having a slump I would put Levshunov higher, but as of now Nazar, Moore, and Reichel (their only bonafide top 6 prospects) all rank lower than Demidov (best play maker in the draft), Eisermann (best shot in the draft), and Lindstrom (best power forward and big). Each of these 3 brings something to the table that they don't have in their prospects today.

Bob McKenzie Midseason List
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NotDougWilson</b></div><div>There's no way Zeev is going to be out of the top 10. I haven't quite looked at his defensive game, but if he's dynamic on both sides of the ice then it should be a no-brainer.</div></div>
It’s Denver…system hockey. So not always easy to judge. But Zeev isn’t putting up points by being their best offensive dman. He is their best dman. I think Zeev ought to be in 7-10 range.
I just find Bob McKenzie’s painfully obvious Canadian homerism to be funny.
(Sometimes he even makes fun of it himself)
In 2015, it was: “McDavid is generational”
In 2016, it was: “it’s Matthews but let’s talk about how he is not as good as McDavid”
In 2017, it was: “Nolan Patrick was a lock, top 1C”
In 2018, It was: “Dahlin, Svench…some other guys, Quinn-something…and then, the Canadians!”
In 2019, it was: “okay, maybe it could be Hughes, but here is why he won’t be best player from this draft”
In 2020, it was: “Lafreniere is generational”
In 2021, it was: “Power is Hedman…Kent is a magician…some Beniers guy, no one thinks Luke is any good”
In 2022: it was “Shane Wright’s draft to lose…tightens grip on #1”
In 2023: it was, “Bedard is generational”
In 2024, now, its…shocker…Celebrini. Because of his point totals as draft-eligible NCAA player. (But the dman who same point total…where’s he from? Oh, he falls out of top-10 and doesn’t get mentioned).

Right? That was no fluke. The kid is just having a rough season after putting on a decent amount of weight and being thrust into a completely different role. No matter what people say and what the lineups from last season say, Sorensen was not playing him at C in Rockford. I watched enough Rockford games to know he had almost no real center experience coming into this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlickWilly</b></div><div>If we don't draft a RD this draft and go with Lindstrom, you gotta go Logan Hensler in 2025, assuming we are drafting that high, which it looks like you are projecting that. Verhaege would be sick if you can pry him from Florida. I would rather see Bedard at 1C and Lindstrom at 2C, with Verhaege and Nazar flanking bedard and Kurashev and Moore flanking Lindstrom. Then you have some combo of Greene, Dach, Lardis, Dickinson, Foligno, and Slaggert on the bottom 6.
Agree on the goalie situation. Just keeping signing Mrazek to 1 or 2 year deals until one of the kids can prove themself in any capacity in the NHL. Looks like Soderblom isn't the guy. Rinse and repeat with Commesso and then if need be Gajan.</div></div>
I think RD depth is an important thing to address for CHI, but I don't think we need to worry about an RD1 for a while. Plus, if we can either trade up to get a third 1st round pick or get Emery in the 2nd round, we'll be in pretty good shape. But, yeah, I agree. Bedard is likely gonna stick at C. Lindstrom would be 2C. Nazar is likely gonna be a top 6 forward. When CHI is a better team, Kurashev will likely be a 3rd line forward, if he is even still here.
