If we don't draft a RD this draft and go with Lindstrom, you gotta go Logan Hensler in 2025, assuming we are drafting that high, which it looks like you are projecting that. Verhaege would be sick if you can pry him from Florida. I would rather see Bedard at 1C and Lindstrom at 2C, with Verhaege and Nazar flanking bedard and Kurashev and Moore flanking Lindstrom. Then you have some combo of Greene, Dach, Lardis, Dickinson, Foligno, and Slaggert on the bottom 6.

Agree on the goalie situation. Just keeping signing Mrazek to 1 or 2 year deals until one of the kids can prove themself in any capacity in the NHL. Looks like Soderblom isn't the guy. Rinse and repeat with Commesso and then if need be Gajan.

Cant believe i didnt notice that. Also insanely shortsighted to not re-sign him given how he looked last year

I think RD depth is an important thing to address for CHI, but I don't think we need to worry about an RD1 for a while. Plus, if we can either trade up to get a third 1st round pick or get Emery in the 2nd round, we'll be in pretty good shape. But, yeah, I agree. Bedard is likely gonna stick at C. Lindstrom would be 2C. Nazar is likely gonna be a top 6 forward. When CHI is a better team, Kurashev will likely be a 3rd line forward, if he is even still here.

Right? That was no fluke. The kid is just having a rough season after putting on a decent amount of weight and being thrust into a completely different role. No matter what people say and what the lineups from last season say, Sorensen was not playing him at C in Rockford. I watched enough Rockford games to know he had almost no real center experience coming into this season.

I wouldn't be too disappointed to skip out on a 1st round RD this draft depending on how the draft board plays out, but I would only like that to be the case if we think we're drafting high enough to get Hensler or Trethewey next year. Murphy is fine but he's already 30 and not getting any younger, and Jones will be around a while, hopefully at a high level, but Rinzel still hasn't played an NHL minute yet and, neither of those 3 screams RD1 to me. You have to find a star that meshes well with Vlasic or Korchinski that can be a certfied RD1 and plan for a future where Jones starts to decline when we enter our competitive window, because he is also already 29.

Yeah. We'll see. I trust whatever KD wants to do. It's not like we have much choice, either way. He could always address one or the other through trade or free agency down the road.
