Dvorak Chicago native
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowhawk18</b></div><div>Why would anyone care that he is from Chicago? Dvorak is an overpaid, injured, underperforming 3rd liner, that along with an average at best back up goalie does not get you two 2nd round picks.
Since the Hawks don’t need either and would unnecessarily be adding cap they will require the Habs to send the along with Dvorak and DeSmith, not the other way around.
To think Montreal could command Dickinson and 2 x 2nd round picks for that duo is laughable.</div></div>
Players care about playing in their hometowns. This year Jeff Petry and Alex DeBrincat both Michigan native are happy to play for their home State. We all love Quebec and french Canadians playing with the Habs. Columbus has 4-5 former Jr Blue Jackets on their roster. Being surrounded by friends and family are a plus for the players and their families. I could go on and on but people care maybe you don't but some do.

He's better than Andrew Shaw who got picked up for two seconds.

Dvorak Chicago native
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Andy_Dick</b></div><div>Agreed Dvorak value is low right now. He will easily return something decent when he's healthy and a year less term. The Habs need Dvorak rn with Monahan injury concerns, Dach moving to the wing and a struggling Jake Evans. Dvorak is only 27, he wins draws and can matchup against other teams top lines in a pinch. Nothing close to what they originally paid with a 1st and 2nd but easily a 2nd plus.</div></div>
I don't think it's an overpayment Andrew Shaw got picked up for two second round picks. He's a decent veteran and a Chicago native.

Calgary doesn't have enough right shooting forwards. It's true they don't need DeSmith but if they call up Wolf DeSmith is good depth.

If I'd be a hockey or any athlete in that kind of situation. I'd take 3 plus millions over leagues minimum. Tarasenko did it in Ottawa, Ottawa are not contenders.

No Murray is better than Talbot and Allen but can't stay healthy. Talbot had similar cap hit as Allen at time of trade. Allen's numbers in St Louis we're the same as Talbot Murray a couple years back.

Gustavsson was 3.55 in Ottawa Talbot was 2.93 in Ottawa that's a plus for Ottawa. Gustavsson went from 3.55 to 2.10 that also paid off the Minnesota.

Kent Hughes would make him go where he wants. Just like he did with Jeff Petry. If a guy like Kane can bring Caufield and Suzuki in the 70+ points that's a plus for the organization even if it's ¾ of a season.

Minnesota traded Talbot for Gustafson last season young goalie for experience goaltender. Same scenario as this one. It was a good trade for both teams.
